philcric Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 So now that Pujara scored 0 in second innings what would you say if Rohit now gets a 100 ? Well played Rohit?
jf1gp_1 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Well played Rohit? If Rohit fails a whole bunch will come out to ridicule my post as if they were waiting for him to fail.
rkt.india Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 This is the the difference between Rohit and Pujara, you will need good deliveries to get Pujara out. He isn't going to throw it away with bad shots.
Kalia_Test Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 This is the the difference between Rohit and Pujara' date=' you will need good deliveries to get Pujara out. He isn't going to throw it away with bad shots.[/quote'] More like people call the deliveries that Pujara gets out to as good and deliveries that get Rohit out as ordinary . Of course, with Rohit batting, even really good deliveries appear innocuous and that is the curse he has to live with due to his immense talent :((

kosingh Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 While I have always advocated Chepu's inclusion in SC' date=' this 2nd innings dismissal illustrates exactly why he's not the next Dravid[/quote'] No, he's not Dravid. There will not be another Dravid. But Dravid has his issues with getting bowled too. Remember this series? NKRFEWHybnI
sage Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 He retired after that. He wasn't playing well Are you comparing normal Pujara to Dravid at his worst?
Vijy Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 No, he's not Dravid. There will not be another Dravid. But Dravid has his issues with getting bowled too. Remember this series? NKRFEWHybnI Yes, it's true that Dravid had some chinks which became increasingly exposed over the last 3-4 yrs of his career. But, I'd say that much of his weaknesses became prominent with age... I mean, he was avg around 59 after 115 Tests or something. Chepu for me is certainly not in the same league - three consecutive away tours of failures (for the most part) is indicative. Having said that, his first innings knock was pure gold. It was too bad he couldn't keep out the second innings corker, but I'd been hoping somehow that he could... the rest of our batting will fold soon, unless Naman Ojha does a Chandimal or something.
Laaloo Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 No, he's not Dravid. There will not be another Dravid. But Dravid has his issues with getting bowled too. Remember this series? NKRFEWHybnI oh look the great Dravid
rkt.india Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 While I have always advocated Chepu's inclusion in SC' date=' this 2nd innings dismissal illustrates exactly why he's not the next Dravid[/quote'] Why? Any batsman could get out on that delivery. Dravid has had his fair share of such dismissals.
Debutant Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 debutant or whats his name? :finger::finger::finger::finger::finger: Only 3 categories of people can watch a full test match 1. Old ***s who have their one leg in grave 2. People who can't get a girlfriend/boyfriend and can't get laid 3. Married men/women who even hate to look at the face of their obese spouse. No doubt cool people who have a life don't watch **** like Tests. You keep watching the borefest :finger::finger:
Vijy Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Why? Any batsman could get out on that delivery. Dravid has had his fair share of such dismissals. Yes, any batsman could. But Dravid's real decline began after he was around 35. Chepu is about 7-8 yrs younger and should be at his peak. His stats in Eng, NZ and Aus do not make for good reading for precisely this reason - he is not a finished article; I expect that he will work hard and iron out/minimize his flaws. I have always advocated his selection within SC. Outside, I have not seen enough of him yet to pass comment - SA tour to India will reveal more in this regard. What I do know, and what I believe you agree with me, is that the likes of Bawne and Vihari ought to have been in "A" teams, given some chances.
kosingh Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I don't think we'll ever have another Dravid. But I do think Pujara, when he retires, will be considered India's second best number 3 ever- in terms of runs scored at that position and also average. (of course, first he has to be given that number 3 spot again, and with the current think tank, who knows)

Such a delivery will clean up any batsman even in form of his life. Even Dravid.
coffee_rules Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 He gave too much strike to umesh in the end.. thinking of carrying bat record, he should have pushed for more runs rather than Ishant or Umesh in the end. record ko maro goli, few more runs lead would have been handy here.

Still remember the Sachin Ishant partnership, the countless Laxman partnership etc. Each time they put confidence in the tail and it delivered.
