If you watched the IPL intently you would see that Bhaji still has that spark in him that can turn games around - he can also get a quick 50 for you in a dire situation in around 20 balls

I think Bhaji can still be useful in ODI cricket or T20 actually. Darts will be economical
You mean chucking I suppose... Chuckbhajan may be barely useful in T20s, but we've got better ODI spin options - Mishra (avg of around 23-24), Ashwin (bowled very well in WC and afterwards), Axar (decent ER and avg) and if Jaddu discovers pre-surgery form, even he is better.

Honestly, among all his selection, I loved his inclusion of Mishra and backing him till the end. He ensured that he also mentioned Bhajji, Bhuvi and co in the presentation ceremony for their support, but the way he used Mishra, truly impressed me. Good start Kohli. Tougher test awaits against a tough side back home. All the best.

In the end, it was only that horrendous fourth innings collapse at Galle that cost India a 3-0 win. I will take this series win for what it is, an encouraging sign that they are getting back on the right track again after the moribund latter years (Tests-wise) of the Tony era. Let's see how they go against Saffas.

Yes credit ought to be given where it is due. After the first test, I thought that India will fold. The fact that they came back from behind and won deserves a lot of attention and credit. They could have easily won it 3-0 and should have considering the state of the Ravanaas.

Do you guys really think its the captain who still selects the team?? Even Tendulkar had to give in to the politics as captain ; Binny selection is representative of corrupt favoritism but its not Kohl's fault
Captain selects the final XI.

I think he deserves a special thread. Congradulations on your first series win as captain. Even in Australia he went after win in the first Test. But for horrible decision by umpire we might have won. Good intensity shown by him. It is good to have someone taking overseas test results seriously.
It is very stinging comment on predecessor of Kohli :giggle:

Dhoni chamchas on icf nowhere to be seen :giggle:
Someone mentioned the other day that Kohli has a better team than Dhoni. :hysterical::hysterical: But seriously, under Dhoni we would have most likely folded after that shocking first test loss.

If you ask me whether DHoni would have staged such a come back i would be skeptical. He might have won 2nd at best.. and would have gone for draw in the third test with 7 batsmen. Angelo Matthews and Dhoni are made for each other.

I really like the fact that Kohli is desperate about taking wickets ...and picking the right types of bowlers in test matches...the types who have become strike bowlers over the years. Spinners who can turn the ball, wrist spinners, pacers who bowl with effort and hit the deck hard etc.

didnt bedi say that the boy just rolls the ball and does nothing?
that's the kind of bowling works these days in LOIs. Likes of Bedi would have been thrashed by everyone in T20s and ODIs.

I'd say that quite a few decisions were baffling: a) Playing Bhajji and Binny ahead of BK; yes, Binny did better than expected in patches but BK would have done better possibly. c) Playing Nohit and benching Pujara. The 5-bowler attack also needs to be reconsidered on some pitches, such as Galle. I reckon that 4 bowlers + someone bowling part-time would have been enough
But the thing is we don't have good part time bowlers of the likes of Sachin, Sehwag or Ganguly. Vijay, Kohli, Rohit are not good enough to take the odd wicket, which can be crucial for breaking partnerships. I don't think Kohli would be so rigid on the five bowlers strategy if he had good part time bowling options available.

Sanju Manju was saying that Kohli was wrapping up the tail quickly because he has a leg spinner bowling googlies, which the tailenders can't read. Dhoni, ofcourse, did not have a leg spinner so ..( what could he do ? ) :cantstop: Well....what stopped Dhoni from picking a leg spinner like Mishra ? These Dhoni fans.... !!!!! :cantstop:
