However, for most users AV is still going to be an imp part of their PC set up. It is more like AV is now free
sage Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 All you really need is common sense and you won't get any viruses.
Texy Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 All you really need is common sense and you won't get any viruses. Ya but all common sense goes out of the window and u know u gotta click it when you get an email saying HOT -- Katrina Kaif topless on a beach or for some ppl Kumar Sangakkara's phallus on twitter. Whatever floats your boat.
Muloghonto Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Ya but all common sense goes out of the window and u know u gotta click it when you get an email saying HOT -- Katrina Kaif topless on a beach or for some ppl Kumar Sangakkara's phallus on twitter. Whatever floats your boat. The virus problem is reduced 99% by using a linux dual-boot. The idea is simple- use linux to watch your porn/open dodgy websites and windows for everything else. You will automatically weed out 99% viruses that way if you use something like ubuntu.
Dark Warrior Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 ESET on Windows + Dual boot linux Viruses can SMD.

mishra Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 yea right A week back windows 10 upgraded touched 75 millions :cantstop: Then there will be atleast 10 times of that many PC users. Whole PC business is dieing. Even MAC is failing to increase sales of its PCs.
Sachin=GOD Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Then there will be atleast 10 times of that many PC users. Whole PC business is dieing. Even MAC is failing to increase sales of its PCs. These 'PC is dying' predictions have been coming since 10 years but in reality PC sales have just reduced a bit.....devices like tablets have hardly made a dent in PC sales. Though now I do agree that smartphones will finally start to have an impact on PC sales and that's mainly because the mid range phones are finally good enough that you can do a LOT of stuff on them. Then again, Windows 10 has broken all records for OS installs so maybe Microsoft has a winner on its hands now.
vvvslaxman Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 Then there will be atleast 10 times of that many PC users. Whole PC business is dieing. Even MAC is failing to increase sales of its PCs. You are talking about desktops or OS? You are confusing me.
zen Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Bitdefender FTW Bitdefender offers AV only for free .... The AV would work well with Win Firewall + something like malwarebytes anti-exploit And as we know Win 10 has an inbuilt AV as well

Good suggestion, however many folks multi-task .... and one can even use a spare laptop for "non-essential" activities
