Rohit Sharma - We criticize him even till today

Virat Kohli - One of the Best

Ashwin - Best spinner for India at the moment

Raina - Guy who got hightest runs in IPL. Good player at Home

Dhawan - His previous records pretty much talks

Joginder Sharma - Last over in WC final pretty much talks ( Sad he can't play after Car accident )

Bhuvi - Did well for the Team during Debut even till some days before

Did they all fall out from sky ???? Who gave them chance ???

Virat and Raina was blooded into the team in Dravid era....

IN the above list, apart from Ashwin,, I don't see a exciting prospects....esp in the bowling dept

Every captain has a shelf life and Dhoni isnt the same anymore who we saw in 2008. He was a called a gambler who used to take risks whether as a batsman or a captain, but since he changed his batting style, his captaincy also changed too.

Biggest problem is that Dhoni is making him bowl according to how he wants. In the previous tour, Dhoni made him bowl full and wide every ball. Now he was asking him to bang it short on the body every ball. When he got hit for a six, Dhoni put two fielders on the leg and asked him to continue bowling there. This will absolutely destroy any bowler and will hamper his all round development.

Hopefully, Pandya will not be lost in the process

Dhoni must see something of an earlier version of himself in Pandya.  Remember MS made the team as a swash-buckler who supposedly couldnt do much more than bash the ball miles.  He exceeded those expectations, and how.  Let's hope Pandya follows that path as well, would be great for Team India.

My view - Hardik is a mindless slogger just like Tisara Perera in SL. :giggle:  He may not be in the team for sure after the IPL. Same like Binny & Irfan where India will not have to have a regular pace allrounder for another decade or so.

India will probably have a few dozen pace allrounders before Pakistan will find a proper batsman instead of the fake talunted hacks that they are forced to play with.  Till then, keep playing 40 year old tuk tuks and younger fat sloggers who cut cakes to celebrate every time they cross 50 runs.  :winky:

MS Dhoni on Pandya:

"He is somebody who wants to clear the boundary. The more games he plays, the better he will get. But he definitely has the skill. It is something that is very difficult to have, that skill to clear boundaries from the very first delivery. And it’s good to see him bowl four overs also, because that will also give us a lot of strength."

"...Eventually, if you see, we always wanted somebody like him. But I don’t want to comment right now, based on the T20 performance, because the 50-over performance is completely different. Over here, it’s four overs, and you can get away with it a lot of the time. What we can definitely see is that he has talent, and if we guide him and give him confidence, he can definitely be someone who can do the job for us."

Everyone does not have the talent to be a " mindful non-slogger " like Mr. Afridi.  Please bear with the kid and ignore his runs, no matter how many and how fast they come     :winky:

Among the youngsters , Only clean hitter who could potentially do the No7 job for India atm . Needs to bulk up a little .

He can be a Razzaq type for us - he has shown he can hit very well.  Yet to demonstrate he can bat well.  But a ton of promise - and the timing is so right for him - India has such a shortage of non-spin allrounders that even a half-decent performance will get him a long career.  Not to forget, he's a better than average fielder as well.
