By starting this topic , I want to show the current state players from Subcontinent. One dimensional cricketers makes them incapable of being called world class..Here is the test X1 for all conditions.Gone are the days of arvinda, inzi, tendulkar, drawid, murli, kumble, saqi, akram, vass

Cook(C)

Warner

Amla

Root

Smith

Abd(W)

Wiliamson

Lyon

Starc

Steyn

Anderson

Probably only chance for subcontinent players is to play Ashwin in place of Lyon and Mathews in plays of Williamson.Tough calls though.

Kohli, Rahane, Vijay, Ashwin and Yasir can all get in this team. It just depends on who you choose. Asian batsman are looking in good shape but the fast bowlers are not very good.

Vijay should be the opener. He has been the most consistent opener over the last 3 years. The only reason he doesn't have more runs than cook or warner is because he hasn't played too many tests in 2015. He has 8 innings against 24 for cook and 19 for warner. He averages 66 this year.

Yes, Vijay is a walk-in for any World XI at the moment.  Kohli/Rahane/Pujara/Rohit need to do a lot more to keep up the Indian batting tradition going.

we should have a few players in the World FTB XI

If you study the averages of our top test batsmen in various countries...you would find that Kohli and Rahane have very high averages in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand and much lower averages in the sub-continent. Vijay has good averages in many foreign countries too.

Pujara and Vijay are excellent players on turning tracks and have good averages there.

We actually don't have any batsman now who is a prolific scorer on flat pitches ( no matter which part of the world those flat pitches are located ).

Easiest batting conditions in tests are if you get flat pitches in home conditions  and Warner and Steve Smith would definitely qualify as great FTBs.
