vishalvirsingh Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 knowing Dhoni .. I will be surprised even if Sran gets one game .. unless the other pacers are thrashed badly.I am not too sure whether shammi will be in rhythm straight away. I expect Ishant n umesh to bowl well. sscomp32 and Ankit_sharma03 1 1
vishalvirsingh Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 too be totally realistic we shud know thatRishi dhwan and Hardik Pandya were considered as inferior to binny as all rounders.rishi seems to be a 125 to 133k bowler but he has a confusing pace bowling attack and he is a work horse- can bowl long spells.hardik seems to be a bit faster than rishi ....I doubt their bowling skills though I feel hardik and rishi are fine bats but are average trundlers....

Now, Rishi Dhawan is 125-133k bowler and will have to bowl clever line and length to make sure he does not get smashed.
fineleg Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) ^ Hardik Pandya touches 139-140 reasonably regularly? Really? Edited December 21, 2015 by fineleg
express bowling Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 ^ Hardik Pandya touches 139-140 reasonably regularly? Really?Yes...he does.
maniac Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) Yes...he does.139-140 is not a special speed unless he has a killer stock ball or special skills....Even Mohit Sharma hits the 140's at times. The best ones right now in India all have some special skill set-Ishant-Extra bounce,Line and Length and Inswinger, Shami-Reverse Swing and Yorkers, Umesh-extra pace and Outswinger,Aaron-Extra pace and a killer short ball.Even Bhuvi atleast used to be able to swing the ball both ways at 130-135 at his most effective before he lost it completely. So Pandya either needs to be special with the bat where he can compensate for his bowling or needs to have some special skills with the ball......just being 139-140 won't cut it. rkt.india Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Pandya is an alrounder, will only play as a 5th bowler. Don't expect him to bowl like your top 3 bowlers. He has very fast surprise bouncer though.
gakgupta Posted December 21, 2015 Author Posted December 21, 2015 which UP bowler?Recently he bowled for Hyderabad.....still cant remember his name Recently he bowled for Hyderabad.....still cant remember his nameSudeep Tyagi

Agree....I am just saying because let us take the example of Faulkner who is kind of a trundler who has a good slower ball by trundler I mean he can still hit the 140's but teams usually target him....but with Faulkner his batting is amazing which makes him a must in the Aussie squad.....I don't expect Pandya to be as good as Faulkner but he needs to have some spark to make it.Even Axar Patel is supposed to be an "explosive batsman" lol.I am not being negative here and I hope Pandya makes it.I personally like allrounders who are really good in one aspect....like Shane Watson is good enough to be in the side as a batsman......so Pandya needs to be special atleast in one area and the other is a bonus...else he will just be another Binny or Axar.
maniac Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 ^ Just to add to my thought...I didn't mention Jadeja here because Jadeja is good enough to be in the side as a bowler when he is at his best and/or on tracks that assist him....despite being a triple triple centurion in domestics his batting in internationals is usually a bonus as there are no expectations.

Faulkner wasn't that good with the bat straight away. He only got confidence from IPL that played before that Aus ODI series. Pandya has the ability. He can be a better batsman. I have seen his batting and he bats like a proper batsman. Just needs to work on playing long innings.
