I doubt he will be able to cross double digits on the exploding minefields here.His bowling SR is 67 and Ave : 40 . nothing special . If he is to be labelled a great all-rounder it should be in the low 60's and average in the mid 30's.
WC2011INDIA Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 On flat tracks he will contribute big with the bat. In good bowling pitches he will get wickets. So I reckon he will be a pretty good all rounder for England. Have to see more of him to decide if he can be one of the best..
kosingh Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 He may well struggle to bat in India. But if he's good elsewhere, he should still be considered a good all rounder. Most all rounders struggle to bat AND bowl well in all conditions everywhere in the world. It's just too much to ask.

He is slightly above Jason Holder who has proved with his bat many times. Matthews is slightly a better batsman.

Matthews is slightly a better batsman.Nah Holder is more like Ashwin and even then I think Ashwin has a much better (batting ) overseas than Holder Stokes looks more like a Corey Anderson or Watson type all rounder who can bat in the top 6 on a consistent basis with a decent average but not good enough for a 4 man attack
