Singh bling Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 How much it will cost us on NRR, everywhere experts are questioning Dhoni's tactics of not bowling spinners and not even giving full overs to Ashwin
Adi_91 Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I will call it baffling, not stupid. If we had lost, I agree with you.Having said that, not bowling Ashwin was a shocker to me. In fact, I jumped out of my seat when Pandya was given the 2nd over. diehardpacer and Stuge 2
HippoSucks Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 How much it will cost us on NRR, everywhere experts are questioning Dhoni's tactics of not bowling spinners and not even giving full overs to Ashwin The final over by Bumrah went for 7 runs. If Ashwin had bowled, he might have conceded 5 runs. That would not affect the net run rate significantly.
zen Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 (edited) After this tourney, I will NOT cheer and/or follow Ind in LOIs as long as Dhoni is the captain .... His captaincy stands for everything that I don't believe in: * I like to promote fast bowlers .... He plays you know what type of bowlers* I like to play horses for courses .... He plays the same 11* I like to play as many specialists as possible in the 11 (depending upon conditions) .... He likes to play bits and pieces players to cover for all situations rather than making an effort to focus on understanding the conditions and picking an 11 * I like to go for wkts .... He plays to restrict * .... Dhoni Edited March 19, 2016 by rett Ironhide, Singh bling, diehardpacer and 3 others 6

It is not about final over , the 2 overs that cost India 28 runs , there was no need to bowl medium pacers when not even a single spinner was going for runs diehardpacer and express bowling 2
HippoSucks Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 5 ? you serious ?one good hit could go for six + few singleswe don't want fluke 2014 AC memories now but yes i agree he should have used ashwin fully Exactly. However, according to some people here, cricket works linearly. So if Ashwin went for few runs in his previous overs, the same should happen in his last over. Rasgulla 1

bowl_out Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 The final over by Bumrah went for 7 runs. If Ashwin had bowled, he might have conceded 5 runs. That would not affect the net run rate significantly. Not the last over.. Given how Ashwin was going, it made sense to bowl 4 overs of him on the trot.. That could have caused more pressure and panic, which was let off by Pandya, in his second over particularly
Adi_91 Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Malik plays off spin really well. But then, I saw the pitch turning square. It wasn't easy to hit them today, at least the Indian spinners.

I'm sure many would have criticized him for that as well. Rasgulla 1
Stuge Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 There was no need to bowl pandya when you had options like yuvi, raina and ashwin.Hard to.understand this decisionSent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Singh bling Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 So you wanted Dhoni to bowl out his main spinner in the first 8 overs? I'm sure many would have criticized him for that as well. Those 2 overs were 13th and 14th
bowl_out Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 So you wanted Dhoni to bowl out his main spinner in the first 8 overs? I'm sure many would have criticized him for that as well. There was no point reserving an over of Ashwin... He was never going to come back to bowl at the death overs..When only 3 of your bowlers can bowl 4 overs, on this pitch it was a no-brainer that 2 of those 3 had to be the main spinners
Shivaji bhonsle Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 But then, I saw the pitch turning square. It wasn't easy to hit them today, at least the Indian spinners.Off spin is easier for Someone like Malik. I bet Ashwin wouldn't have got his wicket like Pandey did.
Adi_91 Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Even when Joginder Sharma bowled the last over, we thought we are doomed in 2007. But didn't he bring us glory? It is easy to criticize, but you can't take away his record.

But didn't he bring us glory? It is easy to criticize, but you can't take away his record. There was no option at that time , Bhajji was going for runs and all other bowlers were finished
kruiser Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Exactly. However, according to some people here, cricket works linearly. So if Ashwin went for few runs in his previous overs, the same should happen in his last over. not linearly, but what does common sense say - you take a chance with a bowler who was totally non threatening and went for 10 runs in his first over or go with a bowler who has given 3 RPO? More so when the pitch is tailormade for 2nd bowler? On this pitch, any other captain would have bowled as many of Yuvi, Raina, Ash and Jaddu. Heck, I would even try Dhawan for an over!
Singh bling Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 I was just switching different channels and from Imran to all other experts were wondering why spinners did not bowl more overs for India
Number Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 He does all these strange out of blue things just to justify a lot of his stupidities. Has always been like this.To me his all the facade of the greatest ever captain was exposed long back in 2011/12 Aus/Eng thumping when nobody was there to cover his idiotic decisions.Since then I just laugh when I see media led sheeple worshipping him like a demigod. chewy, Ironhide and Stuge 3
