Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) Amitabh tweet-T 2184 - With all due respects, it would be really worthy of an Indian commentator to speak more about our players than others all the time. Dhoni reply-Nothing to add Edited March 23, 2016 by Ankit_sharma03 tweaker 1

chewy Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 don't think he said anything controversial, he was just following his scripted lines, beings zero analysis.maybe it was meant for Manju, who is always busy brown nosing Aussies and Saffers. New guy 1
sandeep Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Old man AB having fun with this game - He just re-tweeted this - When a bowler takes 3 in 3 balls it's called hat trick. When he takes 2 & 3rd gets run out ,its called Hardick :P diehardpacer, BlueBee, tweaker and 2 others 5
Adi_91 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 LOL, Sunny was jinxing Bangladesh all the time. Most of the time, even when India was trying to make a comeback, he kept saying that India have got no chance. Credit to him. adi B, sscomp32, New guy and 6 others 9
YCCC Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 If I had a pound for every time he said a particular Bangladesh player (can't remember which one) had "cheeky" shots I'd be able to buy an IPL franchise! tweaker, adi B and sscomp32 3

sandeep Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 If I had a pound for every time he said a particular Bangladesh player (can't remember which one) had "cheeky" shots I'd be able to buy an IPL franchise!Yeah, Gavaskar is not the best commentator around, he's too old school and stuck in his perception. Prone to say random things to justify his thinking. I still remember a few years back, India were losing an ODI to Australia, and our fielding overall had been a bit sloppy, and the australians had been good as usual with theirs. The other commentator pointed that out and on a quick single, Harbhajan was a bit late to pick up the ball and throw it - and before the Aussie commie could get his second word out, Gavaskar jumps in with 'That's very good fielding by Harbhajan. Extremely good work". It was hilarious. Facts be damned, the old man was in no mood to listen to the aussie lecture, howsoever accurate, on fielding. sscomp32, diehardpacer, tweaker and 1 other 4

How is predicting a shot even before the batsman played it scripted? tweaker 1
sandeep Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 How is predicting a shot even before the batsman played it scripted? Everyone knows pocket Mushfiq would try behind the wicket shots, its not exactly brilliant insight.... tweaker 1

Adi_91 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 And when Ashwin played the leg glance for 4 yesterday, he started speaking about Ranjit Singh who started playing the shot for the first time. The thing is, everytime any player plays that shot, he repeats the same. Am tired of hearing it. sscomp32, diehardpacer, tweaker and 1 other 4
MK55 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Well Gavaskar has this tendency to be excessively critical. But he has been a lot worse on other occasions. Actually I quite enjoyed listening to Brendan Julian's commentary in the end. diehardpacer, sscomp32 and tweaker 3
kosingh Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Shutup Big B. I'm not a Gavaskar fan, but your input about cricket and cricket commentary holds even less weight to me that the input of ICF members! zep1706 1
