Karun Nair played a nice responsible knock today...54  off  42 not out.

Don't rate him, well done he got 50, but struggled to hit the big boundaries, he got away because De Kock was going at SR 200.

So far regarding big hitting none of the young uncapped indians (except Manan Vohra) have impressed to merit place in India T20 or ODI, other teams are way ahead of India it seems regarding hitting power.

Another one, Kedar Jadhav, was out of his dept against International quality bowlers,

Sarfraz and Vohra, both have impressed with their hitting power.  Even Samson has hit a couple of big sixes.

I watched many of the IPL games this weekend. Of the batsmen, only Vohra impressed me so far. Vohra also showed good presense of mind and ability to take advantage of field settings

Iyer, Samson and Nair did not impress me much

Hopefully, these guys will get more opportunity to show their skills vs good bowling attacks

For the spinners, K Pandya and M Ashwin showed good temperament but need to improve to make a successful transition to international cricket

There has been lot of chatter about Shreyas Iyer last many months. Hope he delivers when he has people (captains, coaches, selectors) watching him now.

He got emerging player award last IPL. People were watching him at that time too.

Nair is a great talent. He is a busy player. His SR is as good as Rohit, Kohli.

Krunal  Pandya plays a gem of a knock today.   49  off 28 balls not out when his team was struggling. Hit some big sixes and powerful shots but there were deft touches for 4 too.  An innings under pressure always carries more value.

Struggled against pace.

Struggled against pace.

Quite a few quick accurate yorkers were bowled at him.  Not easy to handle.

He is not used to contimuous 135 k + pace as he has played only a handful of List A and domestic T20s...may get better with time.

Nice innings by Krunal Pandya again.  36  off  17 deliveries with two 6s  and four  4s.

Innings included power hits as well as deft touches.

He was run out unfortunately.
