Inswinging yorkers !!!

The thing about Akram was his skill...Yes he could crank it up but he was by no means an express bowler......I recently watched highlights of an old game on youtube from 1999-2000 Ind-Pak-Australia tri series.......Sachin was in red hot form in that tour and first over Wasim castles him with a perfect slower ball not an inswinging yorker or a pacy full pitched delivery but a slower ball out of no where...Sachin couldn't pick it and was least expecting it......That is totally on cricketing accumen.

What speeds Akram could consistently bowl can never be determined but at his fastest was 140K max and in his younger days 145...but to get the swing and variations he would be 130-140 depending on the conditions.

Srinath was not a swing bowler,he would constantly crank it up and in terms of consistency was faster than Akram.....He was constantly between 135-145 throughout his career.

Speed wise Srinath all the way.

Fastest 140? Even Bhuvi bowls in that range. Almost all good bowlers can easily bowl in upto 145. In a list of modern bolwers only McGrath, Asif, Anderson, Broad and Philander bowl at 130-140 speed. Broad and Anderson both were quicker in early days. All other good bowlers Steyn, Morkel, Ntini, Rabada, Harris, Johnson, Roach, Bond, Akhtar, Lee bowl can bowl 145.

Haven't seen many 130-140 bowlers success at international level and I doubt Wasim was in that range.

Walsh, Ambrose, Wasim, Mcgrath, Hadlee, Kapil(later part of his career), Imran, James Anderson and others.....all these bowlers picked up more wickets with deliveries between 130-140 and were consistently in those speeds or lower throughout their careers. I'd call them fairly successful, wouldn't you?

Its not just about the speedgun numbers.  Its about where the batsman has to play it at.  Getting it in the right area even a bit slower will hustle and hurry the batsman.  That's what the great ones do. Akram may not have been faster than Srinath, but he was quick enough and hit those danger zones often enough to make batsmen fear him way more than Srinath.

watch this video of 1996, you will get your answer. He was probably the fastest bowler in the world at that time along with Alan Donald.

We dont have videos and people probably might not remember, Srinath's bowling in 1999 Kolkata test against Pak where he picked up 8/86 his best test performance. he took 13 wickets in that test.

Coming to the same match RKT is talking about, Srinath bowled very fast in that series. And in this particular match, Shahid Afridi was out by a very quick high rising delivery from Srinath which hit Afridi. Afridi acted as if it had not touched his glove, but when given out, he just fell down in pain.

And that prompted Ramiz Raja, the commentator to say ,' Its not easy to play against the pace of Srinath and Shoaib...

I specifically remember this comment from Ramiz

The thing with Akram was, he had a very short run up and a very quick arm action. Also a very awkward action. Because of his runup, people didnt expect the kind of pace he could generate. But from I have seen, even in his fastest years, he wasnt above 140 and 145 sometime.

During that time, Srinath used to bowl those bouncers which seamed in too at pace and made it very awkward for the batsmen.

Forget about international bowlers even 17-19 year old kids can crank 142

still there are bowlers who cannot crank up 135. You remember a Pakistani fast bowler Tanveer Ahmed who would  barely cross 125K. Our own PK would barely clock 130 plus. Even West Indian Carlos Brathwaite and Jason Holder, they struggle to hit 135K. Nathan Bracken struggled to cross 135. Clint Mckay struggled to cross 135. NZender Oram and Darrel Tuffy two big guys struggled to cross 135K. All these are international bowlers.

Haha I did not mention Srinath's name in first post , all my question was if Akram was bowling at 135-139 at the age of 37 or more in 2003 then how come he was under 140k bowler at his peak.It is you people that are obsessed with Srinath's speed and bought his name .And suddenly when I disagree with with your claims then I am Pakistani

oh you seemed like pakistani, still do and i believe you are. But i can understand you dont want to be seen as a pakistani, many of your country men i meet dont want to disclose their nationality for some reason.

Btw stating the facts as they are is not obsession, stating wrong facts to warp the truth is.
