Not really... i. Ind batting at home will dominate any opposition in world ii. Ashwin alone will do match-winning bowling performances 4/5 times at home...

Ranking system is flawed and meaningless.

 

The best team is the team that can give a strong and consistent performance both home and away not the home track bully that achieves #1 on the back of unfair pitches.

We have won test series  in England and NZ and drew a series in South Africa, in the last 10 years.

 

Won 2 series in WI and  1 in SL too.

Yes.....From 2002 to 2011 and then from 2015 to 2016,    our test team has won  3 test series  in WI and once each in England, Pakistan, NZ and Sri Lanka.

 

In the same period, we have drawn one series each in Australia, South Africa and England.

 

2011 end to 2014 were bad years for us as far as touring is concerned due to many top players and captain nearing their career end at the same time. 

 

This would hardly make us the worst touring side in test matches in the last few years.

I am afraid rain goes with the territory as far as test rankings go.

 

I remember South africa were screwed badly in the rankings a few years back cause their test series v BD was rained off.

and coming to the ground itself. Yes it was a total shambles. That venue needs to be banned.  I really dont understand what WI are trying to do as a board. Already they pissed off the BCCI by pulling out of a tour right in the middle. Now the BCCI extends them an olive branch and they screw up anyways.

 

I dont think the BCCI have lost out monetarily from this. But if I was a broadcaster I am going to think 10 times before bidding for matches in WI. The biggest losers were the Indian broadcasters who paid good money. 

 

If i was a BCCI decision maker I would not be committing 4 tests to WI. Play the minimum 2 and be done with it. 

 

Its a shame, I thought this WI outfit have potential based on their draw in the second test against the odds. Let down drastically by cricketing admin.

Frankly this whole ranking is bogus.What i am more interested in away wins and that too against the top 3 and Pakistan have bested us there with a 2-2 draw in England.I highly doubt our bowlers would be as successful against the poms as the Pakistani.

Current pakistani bowling looks better on the back of this current performance yes we will only know when India tours England. But when you say pakstan has bested us you ought to consider all series, then the 2007 and prior series come into picture, wherein India has won series' in England.
