Also cant be sure of his batting skills against quality bowling so soon Yusuf- poor fielder. Has been dropping a lot of catches in ipl. OR else Kohli , rohit should start rolling their arms in net. Dhoni did mention in Post match last game he needs the 6th bowler also somewere as anyone bowler could have a bad and then we are struggling. He also said with kohli's awkward action u cant make him bowl more than 2-3 overs.

Control can only come by bowling a lot of overs. Even dhoni can bowl and we have seen him in Int cricket, he also bowls a lot in Nets but again what about match practice. I remember last Last yr before SL tour Rohit claiming to be trying to be a seaming all rounder but again how much do they practice and how much control do they have. Falling back on such bowler for a bowler who has been having an off day makes no Diff. Atleast thats were Raina, Yuvi, Pathan gives u control and could give u a lot of overs but they have other issues. Thats were Maxwell, duminy come in really valueable for their teams and if we could find that sought of package that will give a brilliant balance to this squad. Pandey, Rohit, Kohli all have few months to practice their bowling so they can give 2-5 overs when needed, with Rahul in side even dhoni can try that once in a while. tweaker 1

Not comparing with Pandya but on a green pitch...Bhuvi will run through sides and definitely has a very good batting technique too to survive if there is a collapse on a green pitch...Fielding yes I agree. Even in Indian conditions when the ball always does something in the 1st few overs a Bhuvi in prime form will always give you a shot of picking early wickets. beetle 1

Pandya's biggest asset to this team is his hitting which none of ashwin n jadeja can do. Ashwin n jadeja will now move below 7 and their spots wud b in debate with other bowlers. 51 minutes ago, maniac said: Not comparing with Pandya but on a green pitch...Bhuvi will run through sides and definitely has a very good batting technique too to survive if there is a collapse on a green pitch...Fielding yes I agree. Again Comparison of Bhuvi n Pandya makes no sense. Bhuvi is a bowler who can bat a bit and his batting comes more handy in test. PAndya is geniune all rounder who can bowl and tonk the ball. Also he is an outstanding fielder As far as bhuvi with new ball well he himself have been terrible for past 2 yrs with new ball in Odi that has hampered the team. Bhuvi record isnt gr8 either. Would u compare Watson n stokes to anderson or starc, no coz their roles are extremely diff. Pandya will no doubt in top 7 and bhuvi will never get that chance. Pandaya would get new ball only when conditions are spinner friendly that to just to accomodate a spinner extra. In odi, ull hardly find green pitches. In Indian condition, may be bhuvi might get a 1-2 wkt when wkt does something but it will always be spinner who ll take the cake so to accomodate extra spinner Pandya is helpful. Now coming to test, Pandya in subcontinet for Xample if i want to kuldeep as well for aussie series as aussies are finding it hard to play chinamen, Pandaya gives me an option to play him at 6 and add kuldeep- which could be like Shami, ashwin, jadeja, kuldeep and pandaya. In overseas, We need a 5th bowler in overseas and the main purpose of that 5th bowler is to give rest to main bowlers and keep the grip on game, So pandya can come in an bowl those overs and can take wkts as well. His length and pace is also ideal for Bouncy pitches . His batting will also improve with time and he would give those handy runs as well. Hardik shouldnt be compared to any bowler, coz he ll play as an all rounder and never as a bowler. Edited October 18, 2016 by Ankit_sharma03 express bowling and tweaker 2

Hardik's inclusion in the team is an attempt to find such a player. He has to be given a proper run to see whether he fits the role. We are talking about No.7 or No.6 here, not No.8. T20I is the only format that the 3 have batted in. In T20Is..... Hardik has a SR of 139, Ashwin has a SR of 103 and jadeja has a SR of 88. This is the type of high SR that the team is looking for....whether that target will be realized by using Hardik, only time will tell,....but Jadeja and Ashwin have had rather poor SRs in LOIs. They are not being thought of as No.7 power hitters by the team management. Let us give time to him to see how he fares with the new ball before writing him off. He has been bowling very accurately right from the A tour to Australia. He is not the same bowler that he was during World T20. Edited October 18, 2016 by express bowling tweaker 1

Earlier we had someone like yusuf pathan who wasnt xactly an all rounder in overseas condition. He is also a huge asset on field in deep . Even then you can play horses for courses. Play him on a green pitch. I remember last SA tour, first ODI pitch was green and we played Mohit and BK and conceded 360. 9 hours ago, Lord said: Pandya hasnt batted much at international level yet.Hows he more of an allrounder than Jadeja? At domestic level Jadeja's number are equal if not better.Ashwin maybe but then hes accomplished at Test level.Only big hitting is needed. At no.8 you would either need max 2-3 overs of hitting or rearguard job both wchich Ashwin can do. Now Pandya may have the odd Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he performed that's about it...but nothing tells me that Pandya is a perfect batsman...if he is a proper batsman and if he can bowl those 140K's even without any skill he would be a superb asset...on the other hand even if he is a 130K bowler with amazing skill but can come low down the order and slog a few, that would make him invaluable. I am still confused as to what his role is. Had similar apprehensions for Jadeja too but he turned out to be one of our premier spinners...so his batting failures can be overlooked and his batting performances can be taken as a bonus. Pandya at 6 will be ok if we think that our top 5 will score heavily every single time and then Pandya will be given license to whack in the last 3-4 overs...unfortunately doesn't work that way. As I have said a hundred times...Pandya needs to establish himself in one field then the other skill set can be a bonus...that is the way it should work for every all rounder out there. It is the slot for a slogger + fifth bowler. It is true that the sample size is small....but he is being slotted as a high SR slogger based on his ability. Whether that potential will be realized or not, only time will tell. We badly need a couple of high SR batters at 6 and 7....modern ODIs demand a SR of 105 or more. I think we will see all 3 play together in important matches ....from No. 7 onward.... Pandya, Jaddu, Ashwin, Shami, Bumrah / Bhuvi.
