Already we are paying so many taxes and tell us how is the government serving us. We wont pay taxes for the luxurious life of politicians or for salaries of government employees sir. We will try to not pay as much possible.

In another 10 years the country will see again a huge rise of black money. Will there be demonetization even then? This is not why we have elected you sir. Win our trust, do justice for the taxes we are paying first, then people will repose faith in the governments. We are ready to support you, and waiting to see you act

A lot of small business owners have been cheating on IT will now have to pay their fair-share. This fellow realized he has to pay real IT now after years of cheating. If he feels Govt is not doing enough on taxes paid, what should salaried employees feel , who have been paying taxes since day one of employment , paid at source. TIll now only 2% of India have been paying fair share of taxes and all others have enjoyed the benefits. Didn't people realize they were supposed to pay taxes in Congress governments as well? I think they were paying taxes directly to Congress coffers instead of Govt's.

What a travesty, Baniyas have to pay taxes now!

Defence minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday said that there have been no incidents of stone pelting in the Valley ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the demonetisation decision on November 8.

Congratulating PM Modi for this achievement, Parrikar also said, "Earlier, there were rates: Rs 500 for stone pelting (on security forces in Kashmir) and Rs 1,000 for doing something else. PM has brought terror funding to zero".

Banks would start using indelible ink to mark customers to stop multiple currency exchanges in a day, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das announced as the government's demonetisation measure is set to enter its second week.

Das added that it was found that the reason for long queues outside banks and ATMs, a phenomena all too familiar across all parts of the country since last week, was that the same people were lining up again and again, thereby cutting out other people.

Surat-based builder and a diamond merchant have surrendered a cash of Rs. 6000 crore. It looks like the Modi ji’s war against the corruption and black money has paid the first big dividend.

According to the sources, based on the applicable tax structure and penalty the businessman may have to pay the 30% tax on his cash deposits which will be Rs. 1800 crore and 200% penalty that will be another Rs. 5400 crore to the government of India, said the sources. That sums up to Rs. 7200 crore which means now he may have to pay additional Rs. 1200 crore for the disclosure of the huge amount.

The sources have revealed that he is one of the richest builder and a diamond merchant of India. He is knownn for offering huge charities in the society and offering very expensive gifts to all his employees every year. This year in February, he donated Rs. 200 crore for the purpose of girl child education which won him respect throughout the state. He gifts his employees included the cars, flats, etc on the occasion of Diwali – the news of which have found a place in newspapers many times. The most interesting fact about him is that he is the same man who had bought PM Modi’s much ‘controversial’ suit which had his name all over it.

My rough calc. : Let us say there are 40 working days till 30 Dec.

There are 3lac ATMs + bank branches.

Lets say each ATM/branch does just 250 transactions (money exchange/withdrawal) per day of average 5000 rs. Each.

So, 40×3lac×5000×250 = 12.5lac cr.

Total cash in circulation is 15 lac cr. Of which ~85% is in form of 500/1000 old notes. 15×.85 = 12.75 lac cr.

So we can see that the 500/1000  notes can be easily replaced till 30 Dec.

Roll back demonetisation, says Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday called for an immediate roll back of the demonetisation decision which has led to cash chaos across the country. Speaking in the Delhi assembly, the Aam Aadmi Party leader also demanded a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the entire exercise. Kejriwal told the House that the November 8 announcement to spike the 500 and 1,000 rupee notes had caused misery to ordinary people.
