Team for rest of the series

Team was selected for 2 test.Selectors will meet to select the squad for rest of the 3 test matches.

Gambhir & Ishant Sharma has been releasedto play ranji matches.

What changes we can expect or selectors will keep the squad unchanged

Ishant is getting married  during 4th test waisay bhi.......pre  honeymoon phase mein hai banda.

Bhuvi should come back.

Bhuvi was not among wickets in his last ranji match.

He is. I just meant his career test avg pov. In the past 1 yr, Shami is also better.

Bhuvi for Shami as Shami looks tired. If he looks all right then, Bhuvi for Umesh.

 

That is the only change I will make. Also, will make Jayant bat ahead of Jadeja and Saha, so the message is clear for both Saha and Jadeja that they to put price on their wicket.

jayant can even bat at 6 at times...bats at 4 or 5 for Haryana. but, he can be a solid 7.

Ya but Ashwin is all right for six for now. Our team is looking seriously good with the bat, even though we have underperformed in this series so far. We will be having a strong batting line up in test under Kohli and yet have option of having extra bowling. Kohli is taking the team in the right direction.

India has rarely posted 500+ totals these days. With just 5 batsmen, we're capable of getting 400s at best and <200 (as almost happened today) at worst.

Yeah buit the wickets have been easy to bat, not very docile. It will take time and not every day you can expect 500 runs.

Pankaj Singh should be given 1 more oppurtunity to play a test series

Shami / Yadav can be rested for some test

I don't see any change apart from gambo and mishra getting dropped, hope to see kuldeep yadav .

Gambhir should be dropped & maybe Kuldeep can be selected in his place

Bhuvi for Ishant, Chahal for Amit Mishra. Kuldeep turns it away from left-handers so can only replace Jayant Yadav but I think he has done well with his limited opportunities (would have been an absolute rock star if only the bail had moved!)

 

Gambhir should be replaced as well but by whom? Don't want Dhawan back unless he scores big in domestic. Are guys like Mandeep good enough? Unfortunately, Rahul does not inspire confidence until he reaches 20 and Vijay has been losing the plot after first test of a series! But I guess those two deserve a long rope based on potential and overall performance respectively. So may be include Mukund or Herwadkar to replace Gambhir?
