You are thinking from counties and ECB angle only what has CSA done to deserve this, they trained and gave these players opportunities while these Jackals come and swoop them. 

 

It is not about where you are born it is about where you have played first, once you choose one country you remain there period.

So if there are 4 good white-skinned batsmen and there are 2 slots available,but only 1 remaining non-colored quota left,the other 3 are supposed to wait their turn even when there are technically enough opportunities available?

 

This is basic economics of supply and demand and most of these guys get expedited UK citizen ship too based on heritage anyways eg; KP whose maternal grandmother I believe was British.

 

Kyle Abbott right now makes it as a non-colored player but he is not only competing with fellow fast bowlers but also with batsmen,Keepers,spinners etc. because there are only so many non-colored cricketers that can play.....If I was in his position I would do the same as well to look out for my future and family.

I am not blaming Kyle Abbott, I am blaming the system  which Counties along with ECB are using it for their advantage,it is not just about Kyle Abbot , it is about any player like Boyd Rankin or Jarvis .They were first choices in their national teams and yet they left their countries for England or counties.

The same ECB turns around and moans about how IPL is making their summer irrelevant or want IPL to cut short its season.

Secondly as I've already said, the ECB have done as much as they legally can to prevent it from happening. How does having Kyle Abbott in as a kolpak player advantage the ECB anymore than it does having him as an overseas player when he's not playing for SA?

I just gave an example of Boyd Rankin and how ECB used the system and player's insecurity to their advantage, once he was no longer useful he was shipped back. So tell me who is responsible to Boyd Rankin situation or Eoin Morgan situation?

 

You want quotes of ECB against IPL??? look on web you will find hundreds.

That's a surprising news since just read an article/interview over the weekend from Abbott where he states that he is happy to be finally in SA line up...

And when the ECB tell their selection panel "Oh, and don't pick or look at anyone who's born in another country, we don't want them", none of the selectors who are all prominent ex-county cricketers (who probably played and made friends with a number of foreign born players) are going to turn around and think "hang on a second, fairly sure we can't legally do that and it doesn't sound right".

 

Why would they increase the amount of foreign players allowed when they've quite clearly signified that they want to prevent kolpak players from coming.

ECB can fully do that.Same way FA has been doing with football.

Michael Arteta(Everton player) became eligible to play for England few years back and expressed a desire to play for them but FA deciding not to pick him .

Abbott just confirming in the post match comference that last few years have been hard for him and that he signed the deal just few months ago. Sad to see him and Rossouw go.

 

A big tight slap to RSA who played with the career of many players through the quota system.
