SRT100 Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 With the First test only about a month away, the Australians are getting well prepared to play us. Resting players today for the series and/or sending players earlier to India to acclimatize to the conditions. They have several blue chip batsmen in their team like Warner and Smith and bowlers like Starc and Hazelwood that can turn a game on its head in a session. This is truly going to be our biggest challenge of the summer and the biggest challenge King Kohli will be facing as a Test Captain in India. I actually wish Kohli would have rested for the T20 series as it is very meaningless given the bigger series ahead. I am glad that the spin twins like Ashwin and Jaddu have been rested. I hope the curators prepare turning tracks from Day 1, Australians almost always great Indians in Australian with pitches that offer so much bounce and carry. The Australians will come at us, with abuse and hostile on and off field banter. They will try to rattle our cricketers. For me beating the Australian is the biggest challgnee we will face over this entire summer of cricket. The team I would like to see is Rahul, Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Nair, Patel, Pandya, Ashwin, Jayant, Jaddu, Shami. Strong openers, great middle order, solid all rounders, and triple spin attack with two pace bowlers for the new ball like Pandya and Shami. tweaker 1
kira Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Patel se itna pyaar kyun hai? Patel SUCKS, worst keeper in international cricket, should be nowhere near the team, open your eyes people express bowling, MCcricket and Sidhoni 3
kira Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Also australia will be the worst touring team out of nz, england and australia, we can put a second XI and still smash the aussies 4-0 in Indian conditions, don't know on what basis you claim that australia will be the biggest challenge Sidhoni 1

kosingh Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Thye can prepare all they want and rest all they want, but they'll be lucky to even draw a single test
SRT100 Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 You guys are Indians posting from India. This is from an Indian in Australia. Im telling you, these guys are very cocky and confident of rolling us next month. They win a meaningless dead rubber Test against SA after losing the series and beat Pakistan 3-0 and they think they are world beaters. Admittedly Smith and Warner will be much better than any visiting batsmen over the last 6 months, Starc is a great new ball bowler who could trouble our openers. They WILL be abusive, cocky, arrogant and try and push and upset our Indian players. They will do everything to get Kohli out early in every match. To be honest I want rank turners just to piss them off. I want to Ash and Jaddu rip through them like a hot knife through butter. I have been salivating for this series for a while now. Its about to arrive. Buckle up. This is India's biggest test to date. Trust me. The Australian invasion is coming.

To date = ever? 10 years? 5 years? 2 years? 6 months? 2 months?
tweaker Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Australia captain Steve Smith has urged the senior players of his side to step up and take more responsibility during the tough India tour ahead and also wants opener David Warner to score a big century
gattaca Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Need to prepare little more spinner friendly wickets not rank turners. Nathan Lyon got almost in trouble in chennai if not for Dhoni's masterclass. Sidhoni 1

BeautifulGame Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Our biggest test of the home stretch was the SA series .They rarely lose away from home and we beat them 3-0. This Aussie team is a bunch of no hopers away from home. Sidhoni 1
sandeep Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Aussies will do better than the SL series, but if we play to 80% of our capabilities, we'll be too strong for them. Don't need Patel's batting, especially with Jayant doing so well. Rahane gets the 1st 2 tests over Nair at least. Rest of the team selects itself. Vijay, KL, ChePu, VK, Rahane, Ash, Wriddhipops, Sir, Jayant, Shami, Yadav/Bhuvi. 12th Nair Aus' best bet is playing Maxwell and another allrounder out of Agar/Marsh - probably Agar. But looks like they are going all in on O'keefe. I think Vijay and Chepu are going to mentally injure him before he starts limping around again.

A classless uneducated response and your a moderator apparently. This will be India's most challenging series for the last 6 months. its an opinion. The legitimacy of this cannot be determined till the series has concluded.
Sidhoni Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Rest Ashwin Kohli and we'll still win. That's how big a "challenge" this is.
kira Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Just now, Sidhoni said: Rest Ashwin Kohli and we'll still win. That's how big a "challenge" this is. Rest shami and yadav and play 2 extra spinners and we'll bat just 4 times in 4 tests, that's how easy it is. khawaja wasn't able to play spin in Australia, if he plays then australia already be 1 down before a ball being bowled

England were far the better team in the last year or so. Heck even NZ played better than the Aussies will. Warner cant play spin. Handscomb is still raw. Smith cant do everything by himself. Khajawa is a hack. Rest of the batting inspires no confidence. Ashwin and Jadeja will run all over these jabronis. If we dont win 4-0 with a few innings victories sprinkled in between, heads should roll. We should be dissappointed.

Newzealand drew with Pakistan and Sri Lanka away.Australia has been whitewashed in both those tours. England beat us last time and has been a seriously boggie team for us.We have won our last 7 tests in a row against Australia at home. There is nothing to suggest they will be our biggest test. Now they might genuinely surprise and draw the series(no way they are winning). But in no way it is our biggest test of the summer particularly with their horrible record in Asia in recent times
sandeep Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 who says moderators have to be classy? Besides, we have more moderators than Pakistan have "ATG" phaast bowlers. With that quantity, you have to let standards slip a bit ykvyas and kira 2
Trundler27 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 This Aussie team has so many holes that we should be able to handle them 'on paper' with this series being played in India. But the game is played on the field and that being said, we should target their leaders - Warner and Smith. If they struggle then the rest of their side should crumble. The thing about this rivalry is that both sides play each other with tonnes of arrogance and dislike (which has become the norm in today's sporting world) and so there's always going to be ridiculous things said about each other. Some of the comments in this thread clearly show that aspect of this rivalry and that is not surprising because the Aussies are probably the most hated opponent for most of us if not the Poms. So yea, let them invade with a boat full of holes sandeep 1
