Not sure what you want me to say I said my bit on the match thread.

Morgan still needs to go by the way. He's England's Dhoni

How so?

WHy so serious?

Is Root from Yorkshire? :hmmm:

You think Root's wicket was the key?

If I were an England fan, I'd be livid with today's umpiring. It was awful.

Lol sorry. Getting the true context of a comment is difficult just through text

Yeah I do believe that was the key moment. Not because it was Root because he looked bloody awful in this game. England may not have knocked off the runs still, we'll never know but I do believe it set the tone for the whole over. The pressure swung massively onto England. T20 can swing in one moment as we know, and if that wasn't a key match deciding moment I don't know what is.

Was expecting a Brexit joke. :p:

Fair enough with your comment.

Past his best. Keeping better, younger players out of the side (Bairstow, hell even Duckett in the white ball formats, Billings when Hales returns)

Tbf, twelvth man won it for India. If it was the other way round, chaos would have ensued.

You must have missed a lot of recent matches then

And root was playing like a chump, so no you are not being fair at all

He isn't too old tbf. Normally batsmen peak around 25-32 so he's still got at least a couple more seasons. He's also one of England's better players of spin. Bairstow's List A record isn't really stellar (though I sense a Yorkshire bias here).

We should have 1 DRS review per side per innings even in T20. In an important match in a World T20, it could make a big difference.

In context of this match, I doubt if the Root decision would have had any impact. Root was struggling to get bat on ball in the last few overs and was lucky that two of his slogs landed in no mans land. He would have struggled to get anything away in that final over.

Really?

He's kept us (Yorkshire)in a lot of games in all formats recently to be fair and I feel as though his list A record is much improved. Having said that the last time I saw him play was the One Day Cup semi final last season. He came in with Yorkshire chasing 250, having been reduced to 70-2. Headingley was still optimistic that he'd save us and lead us to the final, as he had in nearly every game he'd played for us for the past two seasons. He lasted a few overs then promptly played a dreadful shot straight to mid wicket. As it was his first game after playing Test cricket for most of the year, naturally it was England's fault of course!

Equation 01:  8 from 6 balls.

Equation 02:  8 from 5 balls.

For a highly accomplished T20 side, it shouldn't matter no, Mr. Owen M?

Equation 2:  7 from 5, but your point stands.

There are two sides to it. If India was at the receiving end, we'd have seen a meltdown o this forum. However, it was Root's wicket who was struggling for timing after facing 40 balls! Wouldn't have made any difference in all honesty.

Absolutely entitled to whine about it tbf. That Kohli not out was a laughable decision, probably the ideal LBW and was still given not out. I'm all for England-bashing but Kohli would've done the same if he was in Morgan's position.

They did bottle the match though. 32 off 4 overs is very, very easy. They tried to hit too many sweeps and reverse sweeps rather than doing it easily and looking for two's which were possible on this big ground.
