G_B_ Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Quote In this test 238/4 to 274 all out 36/6 156/4 to 189 all out 33/6 Quote In the first test 94/3 to 105 all out 11/7 77/3 to 107 all out 30/7 Need to show more application down the order. This was the hallmark of India v England. Why are Indian batters down the order succumbing so easily?
CG Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 You have to blame the pitch for that. Its hard for lower order on this type of wickets.Even Aussie lower order struggled .May be somebody like Umesh can sloga few spinners like starc. Gollum 1
G_B_ Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 I dont think thats the case. In the first test Starc in the first innings was really a big impact down the order.
CG Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I dont think thats the case. In the first test Starc in the first innings was really a big impact down the order. He was lucky and we took the new ball and he slogged Jaddu we had a plan this time and treated him like a proper batsman.
Gollum Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Pitches are different here compared to England and tbh this Aussie attack is probably the best visiting attack since England 2012. If we get proper traditional Indian pitches in Ranchi/Dharmasala we won't collapse.
Late Cut Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Man, these are tough pitches and a tough opposition. You have to fight and you will win and loose some, including wickets in clusters. Ultimately you want to win the war. If you want a cake walk go play Pakistan or something. Laaloo and Vilander 2
sensible-indian Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 This is because Ashwin is not clicking and Jayant is not playing. I found these 2 to be very comfortable in the crease whenever they batted in this series. Ashwin got 1 unlucky dismissal and made some careless errors which in turn cost us lower order collapses. Jayant would have scored in this pitch but we went for Nair the 6th bat cos the situation demanded it. G_B_ 1
kosingh Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 The last wicket partnership today didnt score a huge number of runs but showed some fight. That's all one asks for from the tailenders, and need more of them to have the same attitude. Vilander and G_B_ 2
rkt.india Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 on pitches where top order is struggling bit time, you think lower order will do much that too against bowlers like Starc and Hazelwood who both are quick and have all the tools to trouble tail.

Because u are practically derailing with posts nothing to do with OP. Noone even mentioned Dhoni in this thread till now apart from u.And this isn't the first time either.
Stuge Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Top order and Middle order needs to suceed on pitches like these else its all over .Can't expect tailenders to have skills to deal with such pitch . Laaloo 1

Yep.On wickets like this anything lower order scores is a bonus. We have had one of the the strongest lower orders in recent times so don't thing it's much of an issue.
