Does more video evidence get discovered? Rumor has it Lehmann and Smithy were last seen curled up in a fetal position in their bedrooms praying to the Kangaroo gods that the broadcasters don't find any dirt. Smithy is not as rattled as putyourverseeverywhere here but yeah he is rattled. Lehman is on notice if he looses this series he might have to go, so they will try everything to win, but you have to admit they did good on VK in the first test and he has not batted well at all, i would say Kohli is also rattled. Its a good series.

Not perform, not take more wickets than spinners or consistently take wickets in a series. Its basically win a series singlehandedly. So you meant India does not have fast bowlers who take more wickets than spinners in all matches and win the series with a mvp performance. There we go, no more derailing. express bowling 1
putrevus Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Sorry to derail the thread, I did not mean to do it but IMHO Aussies have better fast bowlers hence they will travel better especially away from Asia. Smith is not going to be rattled , this guy played a gem of innings 48 not out on green Hobart pitch where others were looking hopeless. That knock changed my whole perception about him.

BeautifulGame Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Great batsmen who even struggled against Gavin Robertson, Clark, Shaun Udal. Yes great batsmen . If u think Sachin Laxman , Dravid and Viru aren't great players of spin and great batsmen , u need to watch another sport.
Vilander Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 cant wait for the next game, Kohli/Smith both must have substantial courage knowing the other team is going to come hard at them. Phenomenal.

In truth the aussies have battled hard against a superior side away from home. Arguably performed much better with more conviction. "Smith is rattled" is an ignorant statement unless he and the team stop playing in the same manner. Being beaten in those circumstances hardly means much. If you want to see what rattled looks like. Maybe its actually kohli more so than smith. However , he did CHEAT !!!! Cricket.co.au had no business to question two DRS calls when they had committed a heist with Clarke not moving when caught in slips during Sydney 2008 test .
putrevus Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Clarke did cope he had a brain fade during that 2008 Sydney test but that incident and Smith asking dressing room are two different things. One was within rules and other not within rules so it is cheating.

Raging turners are bridging the gap between our spinners and theirs and making bowlers like O'Keefe look like Jadeja and actually handing advantage to Australia. Word! Just like completely flat tracks are a great leveler of batsmen where even hacks can score big and fast and look good while doing it.

To win overseas consistently especially away from Asia you need fast bowlers and I don't think we have fast bowlers who can do the job better than their fast bowlers. Again, your inferiority complex is pouring out through every cell of your body, why is winning overseas matter so much to you? Do you even know that nz has never won a series in India, the haven't won a single test in India in last 30+ years. England, Australia and South Africa have a won just 1 series each in India in the last 30-40 years. Just like you need great fast bowlers to win outside asia, you need good quality spinners to win in India, Australia despite producing arguably the greatest spinner of all time got phainty after phainty on almost every Indian tour, Winning in India is as important as winning abroad. The english team has been pathetic overseas for a long long time, they aren't even great at home but you won't see them putting down their own team, have some pride, this aussie team doesn't have a brighter future than India, barring smith their batsmen aren't even fit enough to tie the shoelaces of Indian top 5, don't be a brown nosing loser. In long series where fast bowlers need to do bulk of work Australia will always have upper hand. It's all relative. Australian fast bowlers look because they don't have to bowl to their own batsmen. Australians are too good against pace. Same Hazelwood averaged 30 in first class and had just one fifer after 30 matches in Aus domestic while Ishant keeps running through teams whenever he plays domestic. It shows you how Aussie batsmen are far superior than our batsmen against pace. Our fast bowlers are not that bad. They just have to bowl to far superior batsmen against pace in Aus, SA and England. Skill wise also they are far superior. Most of our bowlers don't know how to bowl on flat wickets with bounce. And how to bowl consistent line and length. It isn't just that their players are better players of pace.

One thing noticeable this season is that 3 of our fast bowlers ( Shami, Umesh and Ishant ) are combining accuracy with high pace and hitting the deck hard quite consistently. Getting regular seam movement as a result . They are able to maintain pressure from their respective ends too. We have another pacer in Bhuvi who is also accurate and looks good when the ball swings. This has never been seen before this season of 2016-17. We either had pacers who lacked accuracy or lacked pace or had both but lacked support from the other end. Hence, the pressure they created was released from the other end. It is because of this improvement that I am hopeful.... that our pacers will do much better as a group when we travel abroad. When a group of pacers combine accuracy with pace, success is bound to come in test matches. Mosher and Vilander 2

I sure hope so, Kohli has handled these fast bowlers 1000 times better than any Indian captain has done before and that includes Kapil Dev himself.I was hoping we wrap up this series 3-0 by the time we reach Dharmsala so we could play on green top with 3 fast bowlers and let them lead the way. The best fast bowling unit we had in tests was in 2007-08 when Zak, RP and Sreesanth with Ishant emerging later a year later. This group has more pace than that group but skill wise that group was better. In my view Indian fast bowlers cannot sustain their impact for whole match as they are not used to it.They vary so much from spell to spell. That is not their fault completely as they play majority of their matches on lifeless pitches. Some one was saying winning overseas is not important and he must have come from Mars I suppose to make such a statement.

One thing that makes me hopeful regarding our quicks sustaining line and length outside Asia this time around is the WI tour 2016. We saw our quicks doing that and also taking the leading role most of the time. Result was 2 test wins out of 3 completed tests ( first time in WI albeit against a not so strong team ). Another interesting development is that our fast bowlers are made to bowl a lot more overs in tests in India nowadays and are made to shoulder more responsibility than just being given a supporting role ( like we saw in the the last 3 test matches ). This may all be part of the long term plan by Kohli-Kumble to do well outside Asia. Edited March 8, 2017 by express bowling Mosher 1

This team if it has good fast bowler they will be just awesome as they have captain who want to win every match and not just sit on the lead if he gets one. express bowling 1
ravishingravi Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Just saw the highlight for the test. This was Australia's test to lose. They should have had a lead of more than 150 with their position. Dropped catch of Pujara really cost them.
