Who said he alerted the umpires? Him?

I think you'll find that most Indians on this site would demand Kohli's sacking if he didn't inform the umpires as he claims.

I think the line they are taking is, no umpires have corroborated Kohli's claim that he did inform them before

And that's the point, and even if he did have a suspicion and alerted the umpires that doesn't mean anything, the suspicion could have been heightened because we got the majority of them right, fact is there is no camera footage of It occurring and the umpires take note of any such complaints made, all.the evidence points to Kohli talking out of his ass.

So now the umpires are lying as well, is that what you're saying?

Huh? The umpires haven't said anything yet but if they come out and say there was no reporting of other incidents i am saying Kohli has to go.

Because all Smith did was look the wrong way, Kohli may have not only accused a touring captain of systematic cheating without proof, but he may have also lied about informing the umpires, IMO if the umpires microphone records suggest VK was lying, he should be suspended for a minimum of 12 months, that is absolute *ing bullshit.

So kohli is lying publicly about speaking to the umpires. Something that can be easily caught by just asking the umpires about it. Not only is he a liar, but he's stupid enough to lie in a way that can be easily caught.

But Smith is so honest that there is no way he could possibly be indulging in discreet signaling which would be difficult to catch. Because he said so. After getting caught doing just that.

Wow. Such brilliant logic.

As goose said, if Kohli is lying about notifying the umpires before the Smith dismissal, I have no problem with him being punished. And punished severely.

But consider the possibility that he isn't. What then?. Do you think that the ICC trying to bury this issue is right?

Chris Broad had gone darts at, where he can't be questioned by Indian media. The umpires have been deafeningly silent on this. Wonder why the gag order. Who benefits?

One way to find out man, VK is an emotional dude, captaincy was thrust upon him, wicked batsman yes but captain? Australian captains are nurtured and identified long before they get the gig, meaning they are less likely to stuff up.

If Kohli was aware of previous incidents where the Australians violated the rules then why aren't these incidents being included in the complaint filed so that the ICC can investigate those issues further as well?

This is what suggests to me, that BCCI and Cricket Australia have made a deal behind closed doors. BCCI has made enough of a pro forma complaint to CYA and claim that they are following up, but not enough to blow the lid off the whole thing.

As I said, Kohli may have had suspicions due to our success with DRS, I'll admit we got a lot right (first time for everything lol), but I'd need to see footage, not only of Smith looking at the dressing room when we're fielding, but of him paying particular interest to a fielder not close to the bat or particularly close to our dressing room, best thing would be to have footage of the dressing room itself, I reckon if any such evidence existed we'd have seen it by now.
