I am really disappointed by test specialist Rahul Dravid screwing our team. Here are few points

1. DD is not a team which requires prooven limited overs specialist failure Rahul Dravids input

2. Its not a team for kids whereby every player should get a opportunity else their parents will get angry at coach. The team is playing in highest level. Its priority is to win.

3. The batting lineup is devoid of any Indian national player. We need atleast one two batsman.

For Gods sake, Buy some players and Win something,

One trick missed by DD team management is proper batting order. Their batting order was a young Indian batsman lined up one after another followed by a couple internationals. They should have mixed internationals among Indian youngsters in the batting order. For example like this:

R Pant

Samson

Billings

Nair or Iyer

Corey Anderson

Chris Morris

.

.

Pant should have opened right from the start.

Its high time now Delhi should kick out that dravid the chanakya

Its not like that Delhi was getting thrashed like rcb its that nut size brain dravid screwed us badly this season, sending out of form karnun nair ahead of inform pant in a chase of 200,shuffling that batting order faster then a music player, dropping nadeem, dropping Morris is crucial stages were few of his chanakya buddhi innovations which killed Delhi in this season.

^ I have no doubt that batting order which DD had in this IPL is one of the best. But they all lacked experience. DD specifically needs a tested prooven Indian International batsman. A batsman who rest can look upon to. Right now there is no one. Had we got someone like Raina, the very same squad would have definitely won and be in top 4.

He has done that so often. I remember that one game. Seemed like it was in bag with RRR around 8+ with just about 70 runs to chase. Tihinktank decided to send Srilankan international Angelo, when need was to send in Morris. By the time Morris was in, i think it was 4-5 balls left and RRR had sky rocketed.

Quote

At 105 for 3, chasing 192, Sanju Samson holed out to leave Delhi Daredevils needing 87 runs off 41 balls. It seemed an excellent time to send in Chris Morris, the allrounder with a strike-rate of 238.7 this IPL season. But the management preferred Angelo Mathews, who then laboured to 31 runs off 23 balls, before getting out off the penultimate ball.

Morris, in prime hitting form, did not face a single ball, and the Daredevils slumped to their third loss in five games. Was this a wise strategy? Cold, hard numbers suggest otherwise.

Looks like either Dravid is living in his own la la land or deliberately ignoring all these facts...

Don't want him to get kicked out by the Owner unceremoniously. Looks like he's not bothered and actually wants to get kicked out so that he can go back to his favourite team :rr:

If DD management has any brains they will chuck out Dravid ASAP. The guy is a poor strategist and quite stubborn to boot and will go with his "plans" no matter what the team requirements.

Oh another thing... Delhi should really look at how they've managed to waste talents such as Kedar Jadhav (used to be wasted by DD down the order), Suryakumar Yadav (same as Jadhav IIRC) and Gambhir (the best captain India never had). IMO they are doing the same with Pant by playing him the middle or lower order despite his best batting spot being as an opener

I am fine if they want to change Dravid but we should also remember that even before Dravid joined DD, DD had started focusing on young batting line up. So not sure if it is just him or also GMR who have their say.

But we need to get done with this full young batting line up.

I am sick of seeing all these young guns come one after the other in the batting order.

This is not the tournament to get the youngsters ready for India. This is about IPL and IPL team only and not to help youngsters gain experience before they play for India. We have to be practical and can't keep playing same all-young batting order which continues to hurt the Delhi team.

Have a good mix of young and old in the batting order with few good overseas bats in the middle order.

I'm ok with young batsmen playing at the top of the order but I'm disappointed in wrong batsmen being sent to open. Pant is the best of the lot and deserves to open the innings based on his u-19 record and based on his clean hitting. But Dravid preferred to go with likes of Nair at the top coz he knows that Nair can't do shyte lower down the order whereas Pant can still hit when PP overs are done.

In a way Dravid penalised Pant for being better than the others and that is the problem. Instead of playing the best players to their strengths, Dravid was more worried about hiding players' weaknesses and that approach never works. If Nair & Samson can't hack it in the middle order so be it. Find somebody else but the best player for the position should play at the position. I'm more than sure had Pant opened throughout the IPL DD would've won more matches.
