You can't treat India A games for such. Point of India A tours is to test next batch, likes of Iyer, Gill, Rajpoot etc.

Should prepare a greentop for 4-day games. Siraj, Rajpoot, Avesh/Mavi should play. Dravid should really look at developing defensive game of Mavi, Avesh etc with the bat. 15-20 runs from the bowlers has more or less become the standard now. Especially Mavi, as he has the potential to average 25-30 with the bat.

I was really keen on seeing Shreyas Gopal in ODIs as a back up of Chahal as he can bat as well. David Willey really contributed with the bat for England at no.8. Our tail in ODIs seems a bit too long. If Gopal bowls well, he will be an upgrade on Chahal in terms of batting.

None of the experienced Test players should be playing this. No chance to Rahane please.

Pick only those youngsters who have played few internationals, else purely non-India players.

My 15 for 4 day matches will be - Mayank, Priyank Panchal, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, Karun Nair, Rinku Singh, Vijay Shankar, Pant (wk), Rajpoot, Avesh Khan, Aniket Choudhary, Shivam Mavi, Mayank Markande, K Gowtham, Shahbaz Nadeem

Have added the name of 21 year middle order batsman from UP Rinku Singh bats at 6-7 for UP and has in last two seasons scored close to 1400 runs@68.

Easwaran's 180  not out, chasing 322 runs in the 4th innings,  speaks volumes about his temperament.  And he has been a consistent performer too.

I would love to have temperamentally strong batters in the team.

Saini is match fit ...  but returning from injury and not looking a 100% yet.  Not in great form either.  He needs to play a couple of more FC and pick wickets.

Even chief selector is talking about Easwaran ...

So, he is in contention

:wall::adore::police:

England Lions have recalled Nottinghamshire batsman Ben Duckett to both red and white ball squads for their tour of India

One of those who have played at senior level is Duckett, who played Test and ODI cricket for England during the winter of 2016. Although he did well in the one-day series against Bangladesh, he struggled in the Test arena and was dropped during the series against India. He returned to the Lions squad the following winter but was reprimanded after pouring a drink over James Anderson's head in a bar in Perth when the Lions met up with England's Ashes squad.

After the incident involving Ben Stokes outside a Bristol nightclub just a few months before and salacious, and exaggerated, reports about Jonny Bairstow 'headbutting' Australian opening batsman Cameron Bancroft earlier in the Ashes tour, Duckett's timing was less than ideal.

Although the incident was, like the one involving Bairstow, overblown, Duckett was fined, suspended for the rest of the Lions tour and given a final warning.

Board President’s XI:

Ishan Kishan (C & wk), Rituraj Gaekwad, Anmolpreet Singh, Deepak Hooda, Rajat Pattidar, Ricky Bhui, Himmat Singh, Mayank Markande, Jayant Yadav, Pappu Roy, Pankaj Jaiswal, Tushar Deshpande, Navdeep Saini.

poor selection IMO. not sure why patidar, hooda, himmat are there. would rather have seen likes of rinku singh, jonty sidhu, and priyam garg.

Probably they are local to where the game is being played?  Usually BP XI doesn't necessarily have the best players, spreads the opportunity to face touring sides a bit.

perhaps you're right - I didn't look up the location. in the past, BP XI was quite strong, sometimes even stronger than a proper "A" team. this one feels more uneven. bowling is also iffy with deshpande (who breaks down often) and jaiswal (trundler). since the priority is not high, maybe they just threw together a random collection of players.

Keep in mind that Eng Lions will play a bunch of games.  Its BCCI's job to spread the opportunity around a bit, especially when hosting such games that don't matter as much.  Sometimes a young guy who doesn't necessarily deserve a game at that point plays against quality tourists and has a wake-up call about what he needs to do.  And besides, when India "A" goes on tour, or even our national team, host boards often give us warm-up games with really soft club level teams.  No need to do Eng a favor by giving them best in class opposition for all the games.  Doubt they did that when India "A" toured England.

Good to see the name of Tushar Deshpande. He is a very good upcoming talent and needs to be groomed properly. Thank god they didn't pick Dhawal Kulkarni.

Now hope Avesh and Deshapande makes it to India A team as well along with Nathu Singh. These three bowling together in a match will be a some sight.

UP is playing QF's, so, Rinku and Priyam wont be available.  Sidhu, it was first season, so isnt there.  Patidar has a list A average of 44 with an SR of 103.  Himmat has a list A average of 63
