fineleg
We have to somehow make Umesh Yadaaav (new spelling?) into a better bowler.Cant discard him, he has got that natural pace and wicket taking ability. Why cant BCCI get some top notch fast bowling coach? They have truckloads of money! Link to comment
rkt.india
Give up on fast bowlers Link to comment
bowl_out
But they have no interest Link to comment
FischerTal
Bcci has no interest in developing fast bowlers. Just take a look at the bowlers who open for most of our ranji teams. They're what chandler Bing would call "eyesore from the Liberace house of crap". Link to comment
sandeep
Coaches and BCCI can't hold his hand when he runs up and bowls. Ultimately, the player's got to execute. Link to comment
sandeep
He is utter rubbish most times. All pace but rocks for brains. Totally empty between the ears. Not sure why India persist with himHe's not rubbish, has potential. and its not like we have a ton of options. Rather him than Dhaval kulkarni or a Mohit sharma in such series, definitely. Someone will start a bring back Ishant thread pretty soon though ;) vishalvirsingh 1 Link to comment
Malcolm Merlyn
The bowling coach is a third rate nobody. What he will do? Link to comment
Malcolm Merlyn
The mess that srini created has left BCCI in means administrators have little time for cricketing matters. This frakimg selection panel should be sacked immediately.Plus new batting and bowling coaches. Link to comment
Wasim9211
our bowling coach Bharat Arun also gave plenty of runs here at Kanpur, who was a strike bowler of india ,along with kapil dev, india were 78 allout here chasing under 200. Link to comment
Wasim9211
india need new blood in the team, Dhoni and Raina not deliver good.Dhoni came before Raina was big mistake, koz raina seems under pressure same as kohli. Link to comment
Wasim9211
srinivas should not blame for poor technique by Indians,.every player need to play positive, just like Rahane.Dhawan was wrongfully given out when ball was going Leg.southafrica scores 65 in last 4.5 over, Now you can ask your self, what india did after 44? cricketpitch
Umesh Yadav does not care to improve. No need to blame anyone. As a bowler you need to work on your own game. Umesh is not a new player, he has been playing for 4 years now at this level. Remember when Zaheer was overweight and was bowling rubbish, he took it upon himself. He became fit, improved his skills by playing county cricket and came back as a completely different bowler. He did not complain about being dropped or give stupid comments like what Umesh is making when questioned about his bowling. If he is serious about representing India in all formats he needs to work hard and improve himself, no one can spoon feed him at this level. Link to comment
express bowling
Whenever I watch Umesh bowl, I always get the impression that he is a hugely talented bowler who does not practice enough. He lacks motivation to improve. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
India lacks bowlers who have strong basics. That is improvement is very very slow. Link to comment
cricketpitch
Mohit Sharma >>>>>>>>>>>Umesh Yadav in ODI's. Link to comment
Number
Coaches will definitely concede less than 74 but their fitness would be an issue. Sidhoni and sscomp32 2 Link to comment
express bowling
Yesterday, Umesh's line and length were horrible as usual. This guy needs to bowl a lot more in the nets and practice bowling good length off stump. Link to comment
swatpulla
Umesh is a Test match bowler and will only succeed when the ball is old or there is swing (conventional or reverse). ODIs have none of that.We need to save him for Tests because like Shami, he has a natural feel for reverse, and his control improves when ball starts reversing.
