Why exactly was Umesh saved for the death and didn't bowl in the middle overs?

I find it common sense defying that our best wicket taker, Umes Yadav, didn't bowl at all in the middle overs where we had to take wkts. instead we saw Pandya, Jaddu, Jadhav and Kohli bowl without putting any pressure on SL.

So what exactly was the plan? To save Umesh for the death overs where he usually sucks and is hit around? Surely Umesh had to bowl in the middle overs to try and pick up wkts else what's the point? I hope it was not that the team thought Umesh is excellent bowling at the death

Why is he even playing when Shami is fit

I won't blame Umesh's selection but if he's picked he surely has to bowl most of his overs, in fact all of them, before the death. What exactly has Umesh shown that he will curb runs when the batsmen are going after him? He's supposed to be a wicket taker so has to bowl most of his overs at the front or in the middle overs. Why exactly did we save his 5 overs for the end? :dontknow:

The krishna dhoni didn't guide kohli well

WHAT THE * DUDE ??? Get the blindfolds off and see the real reason. Not everything is troll matter. This is not IPL.

How is it dhoni's fault?

First off all kohli should have played shami and if he didn't then should have used yadav better.

Abey chup kar, it was obviously a sarcastic comment, you didn't have the IQ to understand it that's why all you could do was cry like a baby

Umesh did quite well in the IPL and the Aussie series hence the confidence in him plus his 3 wickets against Pak made it seem like an obvious choice.

Problem with Umesh is his strong point is his Speed -  however on flat wickets thats useless.   Umesh does not bring much variation or swing so he has no back up deliveries except an odd slower one so if Umesh fails to deserve to take a wicket , he can quickly become a liability because he cannot stop the flow of runs on a good batting wicket similarl to Wahab

Umesh swings the ball at pace. He used to do better in flat decks too, but now Bhuvi seems to have got a short ball so i guess it makes sense to have Shami/Bhuvi/Bumrah
