asterix
90% ICF wanted India to chase, regardless of flat pitch or not. Yes but most of them didn't wanted an unchanged side to play... Link to comment
Haarkarjeetgaye
Mistake. With our batting, we should have batted first. Link to comment

I think chasing 340 in finals is almost impossible.I agree Pak is worst chasing side currently and we gave them a gift. But still if we had bowled well we would have won.Pak was lucky today. Haarkarjeetgaye
Not sure why we cannot see winning the toss and chasing was a big mistake. Link to comment
bleaf27
On such a flat track , why would you not bat first ? Pakistan is known to chase horribly , they are known to fail under pressure - why not make them chase ? Is Kohli so stubborn that he had made up his mind to chase regardless of the pitch and batting conditions ? Link to comment
Shunya
Batting second was not a bad decision afterall. We have to accept that our execution was not good enough. So many extras, missed runout chances, brainfade captaincy moments, etc let pakistanis to score 340 which was too much in the end. Their batting fluked their way to 340 and their bowling was top notch. Amir clearly outbowled everyone against gun of the top order of Indian side. Link to comment
Pakistan
Kohli got punished for not trusting Great Imran Khan advice of bat first and win the match. Edited June 18, 2017 by Pakistan Adi_91 1 Link to comment
ThePhenomenal1
Kohli is tactically very bad. At least in ODIs. He's no dhoni (and i say this as a vk fan) Gollum, bleaf27, Haarkarjeetgaye and 1 other 4 Link to comment

Haarkarjeetgaye
When Kohli wins 2 or 3 finals by opting to chase, then we can say it was a good decision. Given an option with a good batting line up and flat track, any captain should bat first Link to comment

CG
Chalo we can't change this match ,Let's hope Kohli learns from this mistake and learns the good old cricket rule that you win toss think twice thrice but still bat first . Lannister and Gollum 2 Link to comment

Yes, it's consider almost golden rule in cricket that you always bat first in final. No matter how good a team is, pressure of final gets to even greats. Just like how follow on trend ended in 2000s, I think this match will end almost any doubt that teams have about batting first in a final for next 10 years. CG and Gollum 2 Link to comment
bleaf27
Pakistan is a horrible chasing team - Final or no Final - They fold when chasing. Even if India had made 200 batting first , Pak would have been under pressure . Pakistan with a good score batting first is a very very hard team to beat Gollum 1 Link to comment
