Seems like an area WI exposed him badly and other teams will now try against Kohli as well. Didnt knew he was Raina'isque against short balls.

I don't think he is Rainaesque. The pitches of WI are sluggish and don't have true bounce. VK can do well when the bounce is consistent, like in Oz and SA. I believe his biggest weakness still is swing

So basically he needs the pitch to be flat to play his shots? :hysterical:

It also seems to be more of a temp glitch. But, there's no doubting the fact, in my mind at least, that VK is more of a flat track specialist. He reminds me more of Warner, and indeed both have great records in Oz. We saw in home series against Oz Kohli's weaknesses, and the Eng tour in '14 was another. Yes, he has come a good way since then, but I think there are some fundamental chinks in his game that have not gone away.

Will not matter much in ODIs as most tracks are flat these days but England and South Africa test matches will be fun to watch..

Eng will definitely be fun - Broanderson (Broad, Anderson) and co will be licking their lips I am sure. It'll be interesting to see whether Rat implements any technical changes or continues to fish all the time, as in '14.

Wont anderson retire by then?

This is why Sachin was better than Kohli

I'd be very surprised at people saying the opposite (i.e. Kohli > SRT); and I am not a Sachin fan, especially his career since 2011.

Btw, has anyone noticed how Kohli went to batting coach Bangar for tips? :hysterical:

Never knew Bangar was repository of batting; a pity that he seems to be the "best" batting coach Indian can hire.

I was never his fan either. Not because he was Indian. It was cause he was hyped to the moon when he was on the same level of Ricky and Lara.

Depends on the format though. I mean, in ODIs, there wasn't much of a comparison. In Tests, there were a lot of great batsmen at around the same time (Dravid was another).

Looks like a temporary issue

Never seen him have any issues with the quick short ball in the last 5 years. Infact, he dominates most of the time by pulling and hooking.

Sluggishness of the pitch, medium-paced bowler with ball not coming on and and being a bit casual against a weak opponent, could be the reasons.

I ment in batting. Kohli has few flaws that any team can exploit. Atleast Sachin can play on any wicket.

The Eng tour will reveal his progress (or lack of it, more likely).
