We need to create backups for Hardik Pandya in LOIs, to cover for his injury

Hardik lends  balance to our LOI teams.

A big hitter who can start hitting from ball one.

A bowler who can bowl 7 or 8 overs in ODIs and 3 to 4 overs in T20Is.

If he is injured then we may have a better bowler in his place

BUT

The Nr.7  batting position is weakened considerably.  Our batting depth becomes less. We miss  a lower-middle order big-hitter.

We need to create similar back-ups for lending balance to the team

Candidates are --

Vijay Shankar

Krunal Pandya

Maybe Axar Patel .... not sure about him.

Any other options  ?

Selectors need to look into this aspect ASAP.

Need a pace allrounder. Krunal and Axar both seem good replacements for a Jadeja. Is Shankar's pace up to mark?

Krunal coming at 7, Kuldeep at 8.

3 proper fast bowlers after that.

He is medium-fast.

Should be ok for T20s atleast.

Keddar Jadhav is pis poor. Sury there are better options?

He is alright but his batting position is wrong though,he is not a power hitter ,more of an improviser, see a few matches from last india - england series. But yeah we can try a few in his position plenty of options available.

Kedar's power hitting has improved a lot in the last 9 months    : )

He can hit big ,thats not a question ,but i think he will do much better in the middle overs, where he can control the pace.

I guess he should get tips from Shami and Bhuvi on how to increase his pace.

I think the reason Kedar is batting at No.6 is because he is one of the 2 batters in our team ( along with Hardik ) who can start scoring at more than a run-a-ball from ball one.

Otherwise, I agree with you that if we find another batter at No.6 who can start scring quickly from ball 1.... he will be better utilized in the middle overs.

It took us so many years to find ONE fast bowling all rounder and you want backups? :giggle:

It does not necessarily have to be a pacer-all-rounder.

A spinner all-rounder like Krunal can do.... and we play 3 specialist pacers, along with Kuldeep.

Shankar should be in the scheme of things as he is fast bowling all-rounder & he is already selected for A team.

Yes

Next young fast bowling all-rounder is Nagarkoti of Rajasthan who has just started his career.

Yes.... Nagarkotti can be another fast bowler who is a big-hitting batsman
