This article from Aug 2016 says 6.25 crore as Kumble's salary, so 6.5 crore seems about right.

I think Kumble wanted 9 cr. He asked for that for himself but was not actually getting that.

to be very honest, i think this happens. CEO's of mid sized firms pull 2 crores per month often. He had multiple commentary and other stints - you could claim possible IPL stints - so guess it balances out.
