Now to get squad players in the XI

Rohit, Rahane, Rahul, Pandey, MSD, Jadhav, Hardik, Kuldeep, Bumrah, Thakur, Chahal

Dear Kohli - pls do the above changes suggested by Lannister.

One minor thing - Kuldeep Yadav can come in place of Chahal or Axar - C and A can sit out one game each, with KY playing next 2 odis.

 

I'd hate to see "no changes", and I prefer not having Rahane in 11.

That Lannister can't afford to pay his dues. So no one will listen.

That isn't the point. This thread is for what we want to see in terms of changes.

Shardul  in  .....  Bhuvi rested

 

Pandey in .... Jadhav rested

Jadhav needs to be dropped after that brainless shot. Multiple times now he has cracked under pressure. Though he does produce some stunning innings but I feel he takes too many risks for playing up the order. 

 

Pandey needs to be picked over Rahul - I don't knwo what more he needs to prove to be given an extended run. 

 

Kohli seems to want his RCB men in the team

See giving chances to players and trying out different players and different positions 
does not mean giving each and every one chance..rahane played entire odi series
in wi and everyone has an idea of his game. So i doubt he wd get game at all..

Rahul will open in place of dhawan coz rohit missed wi odi and test matches in Sl
Kuldeep will replace chahal.
Thakur will probably get in place bhuvi
Manish will play at no. 4

Rahul needs to play at No.4 only.  The openers' slots are filled up and Rahul has to get used to playing at No.4

Manish has improved his big-hitting ability and can play at No.5 nowadays.

 

But, more importantly, this team is just for this series as SL is a weak team and all matches have been low scoring so far.

 

Maybe , just for the next 2 matches, Manish can come at 3, Rahul at 4 and Kohli at 5 ..... so that Manish gets to play a lot of deliveries.

I think its better to rest kohli and give see how rohit captains also. Kohli doesnt look motivated and more importantly its importat to rest him 

Sooner We ll get rid of jadhav but its fair to give him last n proper chance and then he is our 6th bowler as well.

 

Wnt be a bad idea to rest Pandya also in one of the games, his workload needs to be managed and we shud also see how good can axar be at 7 . 

 

I Also see Rahane getting a chance in one of the games or may be even 2.

 

Manish, shardul , Kuldeep, KL rahul all 3 shud be given remaning games.

Jadhav is needed as a high SR batter at No.6 plus 6th bowler.   I was talking about resting him just for the next 2 matches.

Yes, Kuldeep for Chahal probably to make sure batting doesn't become too weak. Try Shardul and rest Bhuvi and Pandey for Rohit or Dhawan. Also tweak the batting order a bit.

Rahul should be given the opportunity to open in ODIs. I think that is the position he is most comfortable in.
