Shikhar Dhawan has requested to be released from India's squad for the first three of five One-Day Internationals against Australia to attend to his unwell wife, the BCCI announced on Thursday (September 14).

 

 

The selection committee decided against naming a replacement for Dhawan for the series that is due to kick-off in Chennai on September 17.

Selectors will make a safe selection of Karthik, as it will be easier for him to be back in playing 11

Selectors should select Iyer, or Pant in the squad if they really want to make the team stronger

The BCCI statement read: "Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan has requested to be released from the team for the first three ODIs of the Paytm Australia tour of India, 2017 to attend to his wife, who is unwell. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has decided not to name any replacement for Dhawan in Indian Cricket Team."

 

There is no need for a replacement as well, Rahul n rahane are there. 

There is enough cricket going around and playing that is better then warming bench

Well Now manish will bat at 4 and i think K l rahul should open to gain his oneday form even if team management sees him as a future middle order bat..

Plenty of talent in Indian team on Indian pitches in present team  but if SG  has to selects Indian team,he might suggest Priyank Panchal
