Did they repair this pitch during the lunch break, our lower order is scoring runs for fun

That's my fear. Hope someone from the squad camps in at the stadium at night lest they convert it to a patta by tomorrow morning.

Is Pitch really that difficult , Shami and Bhuvi are batting quite well

ball got softer and older. we need to make sure to take as many wickets as possible in first 40-50 overs.

your views were different on day 1

Yes I thought it had more grass than normal but the soil was fine because the bounce was consistent but I was wrong...variable bounce and crumbling pitch...substandard.

Lessons learned - Never question Dada :bumsmack:

South Africans have already learnt it..,they are using his words as gospel :giggle:

Jokes apart...this pitch was not worse than the 2nd test pitch...maybe equally bad.

Dada had a point and obviously a very valid one but sometimes it helps to wait.

This pitch is more dangerous because it has exaggerated sideways movement to go with inconsistent up-down bounce. Centurion mostly had the latter. In this pitch a ball pitched on good length 6th stump may deviate and hit your rib cage or scoot past off stump. Vijay's well lefts were a thing of beauty this innings.

This has backfired imo

No, it hasn't.  Ganguly's point stands regardless of the outcome of the test.

Wanderers should be banned from hosting international cricket for a few years if the test is abandoned.

At the cost of a test win for us ? I agree with the point we are trying to make , but I don't think the pitch became dangerous in last one hr the day . It's easy for batsmen to make a pitch look much worse than it actually is . SA has to make a choice between losing a test or a years ban to host a game in wanderes .

Nope. 100% right

1. Draw attention to a rigged wicket, put pressure on them to rate it 'poor'

2. Maintain that a poor wicket, rigged as it may be, isn't dangerous, and is still fit for play.

That second point won't be easy

How would Dada know how the match would unfold? The last 28 hours has taken every Indian fan by surprise, remarkable grit by Team India.

SA pitch put on notice, next time they whine about Bengaluru or Kanpur we can all shout 'What about Wanderers?'. And they can't call us sourpuss because we'll most probably win this match.
