saik Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday said the pitch for the third Test between India and South Africa was unfair on the batsmen and called for ICC's intervention into the matter. http://www.cricketcountry.com/news/sourav-ganguly-calls-icc-intervention-for-unfair-johannesburg-pitch-680670
maniac Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 It is not worse than the Pune pitch earlier this year VS Australia as as long as it not like one of those WI pitches where 3 batsmen were injured in 10 overs or something like that we should man up and play.
maniac Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Also hope dada has taken steps to improve drainage system of the most iconic grounds in the world Sean Bradley 1
King Tendulkar Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 It’s actulaly a terrible pitch if produce crazy rank turner from ball 1 it’s bad . Crazy green pitch which game over in 3 days just great track apparently sa won’t score more then 240. This pitch is nuts . Bowles like philander and bk bowling 83 mph leg breaks ! express bowling 1
velu Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 dada hates green mambas kira, sandeep, beetle and 2 others 5

Yes....bad in terms of lottery but complaining makes us look bad when we laid out the Pune pitch were okeefe took 6 wickets ffs. As long as players not getting injured I am personally ok with such pitches once in a while ...if they become a norm than yes I have a problem
Tattieboy Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 By the ICC citing the MCG for being unfair to bowlers it opens up the thoughts for Too much bounce Not enough bounce Too much seam Not enough seam Too much turn Not enough turn etc etc Everywicket will become unfair to someone Kohli didn't push his foot across and tried to drive a ball a foot outside off stump ..poor shot Rahul didn't play back or forward and tried to play crouched on crease ..poor shot

Total lottery . At least 2 balls an over are unplayable balls of the century

Pune pitch was given 'poor' rating by Broad, another such rating and it won't be able to host a test match for 10 years. Why do these green mambas never get 'poor' rating? King Tendulkar, adi B, express bowling and 1 other 1 3

I am ok with pitches that start of flat and become dustbowls or pitches that have grass and then even out. Try harder with the comprehension

Ganguly is not ok, he must have heard Indian cricketing fraternity not being ok with it so is voicing it. if there is a spinning pitch its a bad pitch if its a green pitch its a great pitch lol..
Gollum Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 @maniac I made this post in another thread. As you can see the Pune pitch was better than Cape Town pitch in terms of top scores, distribution of wickets and almost equal in terms of runs. Yet one pitch was rated 'poor' and the other pitch was apparently excellent. P.S. I don't think any of these pitches are poor, variety is an essence of cricket and it is good to test the over rated batsmen every once in a while in an age of flat decks. In fact if any pitch deserves to be rated poor, it should be the one where 1500+ runs are scored in 5 days with no result in sight. As you can see, batsmen who applied themselves have got runs in all the above 4 matches. Somehow I feel there is bias when it comes to pitch preparation by goras viz a viz Indians. maniac 1

I am a poster on an online cricket forum and so are you...is the forum rule to agree with everything a cricket legend has to say or are you supposed to have your individual assessment of things? I said if it is a total minefield than sure but just because day 1 had some grass it looks stupid to start complaining till the match is over. What if South Africa score 400 here?
