“I am feeling nervous and a little excited. Playing Test cricket after a long time, and I am looking forward to it. Playing in England is a great challenge, and like any other player, I am as excited as I can be,” Karthik told BCCI.TV.

“I don’t remember so far back, my memory is so bad. I do remember it as the highlight of my career (so far). It was a terrific Test series - one of the few series in 2007 where both sides played the same XI through the three Tests.

“It just goes to show how competitive it was. Both teams didn’t feel the need to make any changes, which shows the kind of quality of cricket in the contest,” Karthik fondly recollected.

“There was also a lot of banter and arguments, quite a few heated moments in the Test series but it was all played in a good spirit. We saved a game at the Lord’s, won in Nottingham, and Anil Kumble got a hundred at Surrey (Oval). They had no way to make a match out of it,” said Karthik.

“We are looking forward to it as a team and we are excited to see the captain and coach leading us from the front with a lot of positive energy and positive vibes, so at this point of time the mood in the camp is upbeat,” he said.

I don't worry too much about his batting, but I wish he was more surehanded with the gloves

His batting will be crucial for us bro we need a solid contribution from him with the bat like he did in 2007.Hope like Patel he does not miss any chances behind the stumps.

Definitely, i was just saying if he does well with only one of the two, i would prefer he does well keeping b/c catches win matches and Saha was such a great keeper.

I would like to see DK actually open for us with Vijay, and let Rahul come lower down the order maybe 3 or 5 or 6.

Then again, with DK-Vijay history, one may run the other out :((

Apparently according to the cheerleader KL is a backup opener so he might not play the first test match.I think both might co exist as its about playing for India.

yeah, i was hoping cheerleader meant that KL is only an opener if the others are injured, meaning they will try him in the lower order now and only make him open if Vijay gets injured.

If they play Dhawan after that disaster of a practice game, they are crazy
