Pitch for Lords

Recommended Posts

Having 2 spinners is the attacking option already. Being 50/50 so far I think I'll go with Jadeja now. He adapts even if conditions aren't conducive to spin. Last time at Lords Jadeja bowled 50 overs (both innings combined) and gave away just 100 runs, took 3 wickets. Exactly the job of the 5th bowler.

The issue with Shami and Ishanth being the only pacers is that Shami can break down anytime!

Pandya already contributed with the bat so your analogy is flase.

By scoring 53 runs, over 2 innings, with the help of a dropped catch? Just because you think this is performing doesn't make it so!

Not to mention 45 runs in 10 overs, no wonder Koach prefers this kind of a mediocrity, we'll be ranked 7 eventually when this obsession with the next Dev ends :yousuck:

Second best batsman.  Period.  This is performing among non-performers and it is not just about his runs.  it is not so simple. There was also a partnership with VK that saw off the tough time and helped us score 274 in first innings.  without that partnership, we would have at best reached 150.  Similarly, on 4th day morning, 5 wickets we scored 52 runs, 31 of them came from his bat.

and no one is searching next Dev anyway.  He is just Pandya.

Yes and these are his stats period, mediocre to say the least!

If Pujara does play, whom does he come in for? Maybe Hardik Pandya, who has always been picked as a batting allrounder. Even at Edgbaston, Pandya bowled 10 overs in the first innings and did not bowl in the second at all. In the four Tests Pandya has played overseas this year, he has bowled 61 overs and has taken just three wickets at an average of nearly 70 and strike rate of 122. Is that a strong enough contribution from an allrounder?
I'm not even counting his awful batting avg this year!
