What the logic could be of not bowling Ashwin in the morning session?

Stupid logic coaches and captains have nowadays that spinners are only lethal when they take the ball away from the batsman.

Even after taking buttler and root in first test Kohli is still not convinced.

Root plays Ashwin relatively well.

Debutant batsman at the crease who hasn't faced him, or a decent chinaman bowler in his life. Kuldeep was in the team as a gamble to attack the England batters.  He's there. Use him.

A lot of VK's captaincy moves are questionable, and at times, obviously wrong.  This one wasn't.

We took 4 wickets in the session. In normal circumstances this is a good outcome. Understand the logic of Kuldeep ahead of Ashwin as Pope was at the crease. Never faced him before so the novelty factor was there. Didn't work but no issue with the thinking.

No issues, no need of spinners in this innings if we are to win this match. Both of them will play a big role if we can set a decent 4th innings target.

And that is very much true in case of Ashwin. His record against right handers and left handers show the complete picture
