Number Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Did well in the first innings in the shadow of Kohli. After that his confidence should have been up and when he walked in today we were in a great position. Couldn't have got a better chance to totally play himself into the form. But he played an atrocious innings, I am not talking from s/r pov but the way he batted, could hardly get timing right, looked totally edgy. This to me also explains his struggles in ODIs despite great start in 2011 Eng tour. He probably puts too much pressure on himself and does not trust his own ability.
Clarke Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Pujara bit him while he was asleep and transferred the anti-intent venom so that all the criticism towards him is directed to someone else like Rahane. asterix, beetle, sarcastic and 3 others 1 5
putrevus Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Rahane is not an upper echelon Test cricketer. He had few good knocks here and there but there has never been any consistency in his batting and he is so weak against spinners. This innings again showed again Kohli has to carry this freaking team on his back or it will go nowhere.
chewy Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Was going ok, but boy he struggled vs Rashid Surely can’t be a sure starter in Asian conditions especially considering his batting position Definetly first name on sheet in these swinging and bouncy pitches Clarke and beetle 2
figo6762 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Rahane and Rahul summer reading list : 1. how make piss bowlers look great ? 2. How many ways to get bowled ? putrevus 1
gattaca Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Can’t believe is played on Mumbai pitches. Mumbai pitch at least wankadhe used to provide lot of bounce and spinner used to get rip from the surface.
Moochad Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Seems to get bowled by spinners too often. Needs to work on his game vs spin which will ascend him to test greatness. I think he should be backed. I think he was playing balls on their merit this innings and not showing intent, which was odd, but seemed like a team strategy only pandya accelerated near the declaration
