Rahane, a regressed player?

"Sharma to Cook, no run, dropped. Rahane drops Cook at about fifth slip. A better ball from Ishant. On a length, middle and leg, swinging towards off. Cook pokes at it, gets a healthy edge, and Kohli has a man at the right place. This is low but not too low, but Rahane fails to take it. Do India's fielders have a treat for Cook in his last Test after resurrecting his career in Southampton four years ago?"

With the exception of superman Kohli, name one batsman who has improved in any version of the game under current coaching regime.

Rohit and Dhawan are fish out of water in testing conditions in ODI's as well. Rahane and Pujara are fighting their own demons. Vijay's career is pretty much over. Rahul is on the verge of getting dropped. ODI's middle order is in complete shambles and we've the longest tail in test cricket. Ashwin used to be such a reliable lower middle order batsman but he bats like f--king Rambo everytime.

Bangar needs to be shown the door. I am sure he is a nice guy and probably works hard but he is not producing any results.

If Shastri tries to protect Bangar, he should be kicked out too.

If Kohli acts like a little bitch because his chums are losing their cushy jobs, he should be swiftly brought back to earth.

No individual is above the team.

Anderson to Rahane, OUT, and Anderson keeps taking men other than Kohli. Lovely bowling. Goes wide on the crease, makes Rahane play the angle back in, and then swings it late and away. Takes a healthy edge to first slip

AM Rahane c Cook b Anderson 0 (8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Thank god, this series has exposed him completely. Now people will realize what I have been saying for ages. He is a fraud. He was going through a mini purple patch during 2014-16 in which he scored as many runs as possible. But since the England tour of India in 2016 he has been found out and hasn't worked on his game one bit. Absolutely god awful cricketer. Virat should use his authority and drop this *er for good.

Everyone apart from Virat is useless in SENA.

I would say Pujara turned it around to a certain extent. His hardwork paid off

If Ind cric is unlucky, this bugger will play a good knock in the inconsequential inning and extend his stay till Aus, where he may not do anything special

Reminds me of Mithun, who would do 10 films. 9 will be flops, 1 will be hit. Based on that 1 hit, he would get 10 more films and the cycle continued

Yes, most likely. He is already sad about being out of the picture in LOIs. He would have thought that he is untouchable at-least in tests but getting evicted there also must have been a mentally shattering experience for him.

If such things "shatter" his confidence , then he nedds to go ..people like Vihari,Kohli,Pant and Pujara have made it to test tam after personal tragedies ..if this guy is such a mental midget, let's do away with him with specific feedback that only weight of runs consistently will bring him back .

Also , it's time that our coaches plan for Engalnd,SA ,Australia and NZ series atleast couple of years in advance and have A-tours starting an year earlier in these places to ensure that we do not make such an embarrassment of ourselves time after time.

With Rahul going strong at the other hand, a good score was on the cards, but:

Ali to Rahane, OUT, oh dear, Jinks... ! He's toe-ended a sweep to midwicket! Just when Rahane seemed to be settling into a groove, Moeen tossed it up and he swiped hard across the line, the ball instead looping up in front of square to the waiting Jennings, who made no mistake

AM Rahane c Jennings b Ali 37 (106b 5x4 0x6) SR: 34.90
