Ajinkya Rahane in test cricket from November 1, 2016 - Present (Bad)

time to groom youngsters for the 5th spot.it seems there is very low probablity of Rahane improving  to such great heights again.Once, SENA baring ENG was his fortress. Now he has regressed that badly.  If any he should be rotated along with Vihari,Gill etc for his place in the team moving forward. This because he had a dream start in SENA where even the legendary Sachin can't have a claim .So who knows just like Pujara whether he can make a complete turn around or not? One thing for sure,  it is high time  we needs to groom  youngsters for those 2 spots. Rahane  as of now can't be relied at all.

first thing, he should be stripped of vice captaincy.secondly, he doesnt deserve any longer rope

If he was not from Mumbai, he would have lost his spot an year ago after the home season. How can a specialist batsman perform so poorly innings after innings. The 20s and 30s are not good enough.

 

I hope he drops himself from the WI test series if the selectors do not drop him. It's not that we do not have able replacements waiting, there are plenty of youngsters slamming the door and waiting for their chances.

Pujara has also finally come good overseas.....so lets wait on rahane to. He is a quality player . Already Vijay n rahul have lost their places and kohli workload needs to be managed now ....need some exp as well cant have all youngsters 

WI tour is the beginning of Test Championship for India so doubt anybody will be rested. Also, WI has been preparing low-scoring greentops which can become a lottery so you need your best bats.

Their has been an improvement in his form ...abhi pichle 2 saal ka kya karna and he is the core group thats how u make players . Not all will give results same times. The next series after that is against SA and he has been always good against them even at home ......and if it doesnt go well then u can look for someone from bangladesh series

 

From now till next test series there is a lot of time, who knws in 6 mnths his game n mental space become more better

Rahane's problems are purely psychological. I think either Kohli's style of leadership doesn't suit him or Kohli does not treat him like a vice captain. Whatever it is, it is purely psychological because he could have easily made 3 test hundreds in these conditions with healthy confidence.

No, we need to start looking right now. Someone who averages less than 30 as a pure batsman in the past 2 years doesn't deserve such a long rope

if thats someone has some reputation n calibre why not 

going through some issues and loosing it all toghter is diff. He hasnt lost his game . He did ok-ok in australia and cnt be dropped on that

Are you kidding me, where did you hear that he does not treat him as vice captain. Poeple need stop blaming everyone else other than player himself .Rahane is the problem not anyone else.

Everyone has flaws, bo polayer is born perfect. Players fix things once they fail wuality bowlers and get out cheaply a few times. Thats the plan. Let them fail and learn.
