Jaddu vs Pandya

Batting wise I would say Jaddu and Pandya are more or less same. Atleast jaddu will get u wickets in subcontinent.

 But for the WC we need Pandya for sure

It is time that people stop comparing Pandya w/ bowlers who can bat too .... Pandya is in a different league as a batsman than these bowlers who can bat too. Pandya can be played just for his power hitting and ability to get big scores quickly

After 40 odd matches Pandya's ODI average is 29 vs Jadejas 31.  Nothing to show that pandya has better technique. Jaddu is also a pretty good hitter.

 

As I said this is only for subcontinent pitches. Jaddu would obviously take more wickets than pandya in Subcontinent. Overseas Pandya should be preferred for his bowling

Pandya is 4th best ODI batsman in the team after Kohli, Dhawan and Rohit. Its an insult to compare him with Jadeja.

Average of 29 is definitely not "Different League". He cannot be played for batting alone that would be ridiculous .

 

No 7 in ODI should be flexible. Pretty sure in subcontinent Axar/ Krunal / Jaddu can do the job. And pandya is fixed for that position for now overseas

Ind vs ENG 1st 3 test where he showed more application then most batsman 

Ind-A vs Aus-A - got runs on a greentop on cloudy day where all indian batsman failed

 

This cnt happen without technique 

 

At no.7 more then avg , s/r matters

The number of games we have lost with him at 7 is insane

Repeating what I said before - Pandya and Jaddu are not even substitutes.. 

Pandya is the clear choice.. Jadeja can be a substitute for Chahal in conditions where we need an extra (half)  bat.

Avergae for lower order doesn't matter. S/R matters. 

 

A difference of two runs and pandya Trump's jadeja in s/r with 118 vs 82. That is significant.

Your comments are hypocritical to say the least. You are saying Jaddu 87 in Last test was a slog fest . But the innings u have mentioned as examples of Pandya's technique  - 90 in SA batting with tail and slogging ..50 in England playing for declaration .. if those are examples of technique why not the Jaddu's 87 in last test.

 

This is just player Bias at its best. If the pitch is slow and crumbling in subcontinent it makes perfect sense to go with Axar or jadeja or Krunal at no 7 for their bowling.
