Even the single wicket tournaments played in various cities of India must be having better prize money than PSL. :giggle:

I think in Psl the highest paid player gets around 1.5crores that's the highest bracket and winning team gets 7crores.

What's also impressive is that the IPL is such a short tournament.

The NFL lasts around 21-22 weeks in the year. NFL players are physically unable to play more than 1, and occasionally 2, games within a 7 day span.

The BCCI can easily double the length of the IPL as a power move over the ICC. They should do so promptly.

Only thing I wish IPL had more of is showcasing young fast bowlers and BCCI showing they are watching performances as a path to T20.

same with big power hitting batsmen. Around the IPL time there are quite a few but names go quiet once there are selections.

F1 surely is more than cricket per player per game average since it's only 21 races across the year.

probably they considered only club sports ..

tennis and golfers can compete with racers as well

Boxers and UFC too I think.

Floyd Mayweather Jr earns tens of millions per fight IIRC

Easier (and safer) to rent foreign fast bowlers and sluggers than grooming home grown ones.  IPL isn't the place where talent gets groomed.  That's still FC cricket and A tours.  IPL just gives the quality ones a chance to shine once they are ready to take on the big boys.

@velu you maybe right but the active roster for NFL teams is around 50. Add the reserves the roster size increases. Starting 22 + kicker and punters are paid a lot. Then NFL gives them pensions too but I dont have any data either.
