What will be target India should set for Australia?

4th day will be a big day. The day is expected to start 30 mins early so it will be a relatively long first session and the pitch will likely offer relatively more help to bowlers than on Day 3. The new ball is 19 overs away. 

 

We we have to seek to bat for like 50-60 overs. Which would give us around 130-180 runs more. So the range would be 280-350

Won't feel totally secure with anything below 300, to be honest. And even then I wouldn't say the game is totally in the bag.

 

Pitch is obviously not easy to bat on, but I also don't think it's as hard as these 2 ordinary batting lineups have made it look.

On the other hand, if we get bundked out in one session, no need to say that the bowlers job will be cut out 

 

Focus on playing for 50-60 overs tomorrow, which will likely ensure that we have a competitive total on board

A target of 300 is necessary to feel relatively safe, but it's some way off.

Yes, pitch is not comfortable at all. If we force aussie to get second new ball @80 over then i am optimistic.

Anything south of 275 would be very difficult to chase.

 

India is one decent partnership, 50+, away from putting this game beyond Australia's reach.

Lead is around 165 with 7 wickets in hand. Ball turning for lyon big time from foot marks created by seamers. 2 days of play day to go but ofcourse rain need to be considered.
 
What sort of score India would like to set for Aussies from where:
 
A) They cant lose the game.
B) Enough time to take 10 Aust wickets.
 
Pls Note, Australia bats deep and literally has no tail.
