Hard to explain his absence especially when Umesh himself is bowling in the low 130s. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
R!TTER
Like I said in the other thread - Ishant didn't seem 100% to me last test, the bigger question is why are the unfit guys still there - Ashwin, Pandya, BK etc. If these guys aren't match fit or match ready WTF are they doing there! This TM is beyond hopeless, let's hope their stupidity doesn't cost us the series UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
PSB_Zone
If they are going in with 2 spinners than either pandya or bhuvi was a must for 3rd pacer to shorten the tail.. Rahul should play, I dont hv prob with him. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

JourneyMan
Here I was hoping we would never have to see Umesh in an Indian shirt ever again. Link to comment
fineleg
5+ players carrying niggle or injury. We are playing partially fit players in Tests, this is crazy. Link to comment

Umesh to be used in short bursts and jadeja as the workhorse. If such a match situation comes that ashwin can bowl 5-10 overs, bowl our champion spinners in tandem. In my view, ashwin + jadeja has always been far far more effective than their individual strengths. When they play together, the variation always draws mistakes from batsmen. Ashwin is only good against the windies. He doesn't score against anyone else. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Ishant is not rested, excerpt from Cricinfo Ishant experienced some left rib-cage discomfort and the team management did not want to risk him during this Test, with a spokesman saying he was "currently being assessed". cowboysfan
If the pitch is dry like traditional SCG pitches then they will play Kuldeep. If its a different SCg pitch like i saw on Twitter than they will play spraygun and lose the match. Link to comment
putrevus
Team selecton has been one of the biggest weaknesses of Kohli. He and Shastri have been totally inept in assessing situtations and conditions. They have not been helped players getting inured either at the right time.Umesh as third seamer is such a risky option. Edited January 2, 2019 by putrevus Link to comment
singhprakash72
Totally trust cheerleader with VK to goof up selection again ...playing UT will be disaster including KL...you already starting a test match with 1 less batsman and 1 less of a bowler Link to comment
