Rahane out for 87, batted at a SR of 37. An utterly selfsih knock, though he did well to have a big partnership with Vihari when ROI were way behind in the game.

Me thinks it was more because Iyer was hitting 6s at will. Another 8-10 overs and Iyer could have come into contention for the ODI side pushing Rahane back.

These guys are not IPL superstars and them donating the prize money to the martyred soldiers families is a great gesture from the Vidarbha team.  

 

“We have decided to donate the prize money to the families of the martyrs at Pulwama. A small gesture from our side,” Faiz Fazal said at the presentation. The Irani Trophy Champions receive whopping prize money of Rs 10 Lakhs from the BCCI. This gesture from the Champion side has won the hearts of the cricket fans as well and like many, even they have done their bit for the soldiers who lost their lives in an unfortunate incident and their families.
