M.Prasidh is consistently bowling 145 kph to 150 kph in IPL 2019

Prasidh, the 23 year old 6'3" Indian fast bowler, is consistently bowling 145 kph to 150 kph in almost every match.

 

His fastest balls in the 5 matches he has played so far   ( From IPLT20.com )

And not just high speeds, Prasidh has a wide array of skills

 

His skills --

 

1. He is tall and gets good bounce

2. He has a natural outswinger

3. Bowls a decent line and length

4. He has a good enough yorker

5. Has a decent slower ball

 

Weaknesses --

 

1. Loses intensity on occasions.

2. Needs to practice sustaining pace in 5 day matches  (  but it is not his fault as he has played in just 6 FC matches in 4 years  )

 

Stats --

 

FC 

20 wickets from 6 matches

Bowling average 22.55

SR         50.7

 

List A 

50 wickets from only 33 matches

Average     26.6

ER      5.4

 

Has played successfully for India-A in List A matches.

 

 

The BCCI should see to it that this tall genuine fast bowler is groomed properly ... gets to play all FC matches from now on ... gets back in our 50-over A-team again ... does strength and conditioning training at the NCA.

Not really. Watch the games. He has looked quick. He bowled quick last year too. Saini clocked 150 in domestic cricket as well.

Every time, indians bowl fast, they start raising questions on speed guns. They use Hawkeye high speed cameras to measure nowadays along with normal radar gun.

Interestingly, there are 8 fast bowlers in India now, who can or could bowl 140 kph to 150 / 153 kph spells.

8. Umesh  (  bowled at this speed from 2011 to 2017  )

 

Even Shami can bowl 138 k to 148 k on good days and always bowl 135 k to 145 k.

 

And there are many other 135 k to 145 k Indian fast bowlers now.

 

So ... most people connected to cricket should get used to Indians bowling fast now.

Which is why I wrote,   "  ( bowled at this speed from 2011 to 2017 ) "  and wrote his name after a space.

 

But the fact that he did bowl at very high speeds for almost 7 years does showcase that Indians can bowl very fast, which is the point of that post.

i think it was 2015 or 2012.. Umesh was easily was quicker than Prashidh or Saini today.

Even Umesh and Aaron have not bowled 150 in domestic FC games.  They have done it in tests.  No bowler really bowls 100% in domestic FC because of work load and congested calendar.

Very few matches are televised, so we don't know.  I think he can bowl 140 k to 150 k in List A ( because of the ease with which he is clocking 147-150 ) ...  but not in FC yet.

 

Prasidh has played so few FC games, just 6 games in 4 years, that he is not used to bowling long spells.  Vinay, Mithun and Aravind / Ronit More kept blocking him out of the FC playing 11.

 

Want him to play full FC season in 2019-20.
