only thing is short balls are shown slower than fuller balls. most quickest deliveries are fuller length ones.  Iyer and Morris short balls were clocked around 140, but looked quicker.  look at today, that short ball to Duplesis looked really much quicker than showed 140.

Most of Prasidh's quickest balls have been yorkers and stump directed balls.

Today he bowled quite a few short of length, very quick looking snorters, but all of them clocked around 140 k.

Interestingly, there are 8 fast bowlers in India now, who can or could bowl 140 kph to 150 / 153 kph spells.

1. Bumrah

2. Saini

3. Prasidh

4. Avesh

5. Mavi

6. Nagarkoti

7. Aaron

8. Umesh  (  bowled at this speed from 2011 to 2017  )

Even Shami can bowl 138 k to 148 k on good days and always bowl 135 k to 145 k.

And there are many other 135 k to 145 k Indian fast bowlers now.

So ... most people connected to cricket should get used to Indians bowling fast now.

Based on your research if you have to pick 5 pace bowlers for WC who would it be? Put them down in a merit order from best to worst. Thanks!

1 wicket in 6 matches and an economy rate of 9 is a stat that will unfortunately take any bowler no where as we have seen with Umesh first and then later Aaron. Not sure what the coaches can do to help these young pacers pick wickets.

Good thing is we have pacers coming through who are looking to go flat out. Hopefully someone from the young group will step up and become a wicket taker as well.

Prasidh has taken lots of wickets in both List A  and FC   (  50 wickets from only 33 List-A matches at an average of  26.6 and ER of 5.4  ) which includes A-team games ... (  and 20 wickets from 6 FC matches at a top average of 22.6 and a top SR of 50.7   )

This shows that he is a wicket taker in the 2 longer formats.  Not everyone turn out to be good T20 bowlers.

I think most of us here are looking for good quality and quick test match and ODI pacers.

This is because, in T20s, we usually see that seamers with lots of variation do well and pace is not that important. While pace is very important in tests and ODIs.

Why  ?

ishant has bowled his regular pace...

Bumrah has bowled his regular pace.

i feel first time Speed gun in IPL looks very accurate.

Now the Pitches have also a bit of Green on some pitches and one pitch had a lot of green too.

Please understand all foreign pacers are bowling as fast as they do... its accurate.

Then why is him bowling 145-150 kmph in T20s and IPL being counted? Have you seen him bowl those speeds in List A and FC matches? I do not remember seeing those speeds. Just imagine if he was taking even 1 wicket every match AND bowling those speeds. Will be a natural pick. With just speed as of now, will have to add wicket taking ability to move to the national side. TIll then, he will be great for the A side, not yet ready for int'l cricket

Because there has not been any games to see those speeds.

Because it showcases the ability to bowl quick.  Not everyone has it.  Very few pacers have the ability to bowl lots of 145 k to 150 k balls even in T20s.

As I outlined in the OP ... the next step is grooming him with care for the longer formats ... he should get to play all  FC games from now on and practice bowling 20 overs a day as well as longer spells. And do strength and conditioning training at the NCA.

Very few matches are televised.  So, we don't really know.  However  I don't expect him to bowl at these speeds in 5 day matches till the time he gets to play a full FC season.

Playing sufficient FC matches is very very very very important for fast bowlers ... and sadly,  Prasidh has not got that chance yet.

I just want him to play FC ... continue taking wickets in List A and FC ... get back to India A and perform there ... and play for India after that.

This can happen in ODIs after even 6 months ... but he will take some time to be ready for tests.

Prasidh got more bounce than Rabada or Ferguson yesterday.  Got so many deliveries to climb steeply from just short of a length or even good length.  Karthick was standing way behind and still some balls were thudding into his gloves near his face.

After Srinath ... Prasidh is one of the few Indian fast bowlers who gets this much bounce.

(  Bumrah and Mavi get steep bounce for their heights too ... but neither are very tall pacers.  ... Avesh gets good bounce too and is tall  )

Bishop was pointing out yesterday that Prasidh decelarates before delivering the ball. His run up steps get smaller at the end.

A few of us discussed this aspect during last IPL. He has improved this aspect a bit ... but this still needs improvement.

His follow through is erratic, pointed out by Lee as well

He said if Prasidh sorts out this flaw he may add another 5ks ,nothing more, can be done easily he said
