1.Clive Lloyd 102 in 1975 -Domination of great pace bowling at a depth rarely ever seen reminiscent of an exhibition or the majestic authority of an emperor..Rarely have Lillee and Thomson being taken to the sword in such a manner.



2.Collis King 86 in 1979-rescured his team from a precarious position at 99-4 like the counter-attack of an army battalion and completely turning the complexion of the game.



3.Viv Richards 138 n.o in 1979-Although overshadowed by partner Colllis played a great innings in his own right blending agression with remarkable organization nad temperament.


4.Adam Gilchrist 149.n.o. in 2007-reminiscent of a bomber raiding an airbase .Rarely has an attack been pt to such extreme submission.


5.Aravinda De Silva 107 n.o in 1996-blending the skills of a boxer,technician and artist to enable Sril Lanka to romp home.

Aravinda, one of the greatest underdog stories of all time. A close 2nd will be Lloyd's onslaught.

 

Rest all were scored from a position of strength and/or against weaker opponents. Hell I think Srikkanth's 38 (top score from either side) deserves a mention, against that quality of bowling on such a difficult wicket.

Came to my mind sir.Great knock in a low scoring game but just missed out.

Aravind De Silva it is for me. The way he dominated the opposition bowlers including Warne and came out trumps as an underdog.
