Temujin Khaghan Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 (Nothing out of the box, I am sure some of you wondered about this before.) Would that make life harder for batsmen to score heavily or would we see even bigger scores? For example if Rabada and Tahir together bowled 30 overs in an Odi or Bumrah and Kuldeep bowled 16 overs in a T20, it means that we can replace bits and pieces players like moeen ali or jadhav and go for more specialist batsmen. On one hand there won't be laddoo fifth bowler like Hardik and sachin's strategy of picking on the runt of the attack won't work, because every bowler is a proper specialist. But at the same time we will play 7-8 proper specialist batsmen without compromising on their other bowling skill sets. If you observe every team these days plays only 4 specialist batsmen, 2 specialist bowlers and the rest are all-rounders or bits and pieces. Only genuine all-rounders will be picked and bits and pieces all-rounders will be discarded. All in all cricket will move closer to baseball with this. ... Share your feelings on this.. Khota 1
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Ah my man. The game is unfair towards the bowlers but then a bowler can come back, a batsman cannot. I think it may make sense to limit the number of balls a batsman can play. That may make it fairer
Suhaan Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 It can also add more burden on main bowlers But ,yes main bowlers should get extra deliveries
The Hound Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 I think 1 bowler should be allowed to bowl maximum of 12 overs in ODIs
jf1gp_1 Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Will help spinners but fast bowler still unlikely to go beyond 12
velu Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 spin bowlers can bowl forever , not sure whether pace bowlers can bowl 15 overs out of 50 with the same intensity
sage Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 We can pick 9 batsman and a workhorse like Ishant with one spinner Switchblade and Laaloo 2
sourab10forever Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Then batsmen should be allowed to bat even if he is out...will remove bits and pieces players like Jadhav out of the equation. We can have playing 4 instead of playing 11 Kohli Rohit Bumrah Kuldeep And then random 7 spectators can come field.
Khota Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 I like what op has to say. Only genuine bowlers get to bowl. Nice concept.
