zen Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 BD: Mushifiqur Eng: Bairstow and Buttler NZ: Blundell and Latham Pak: Sarfaraz SA: De Kock WI: Hope and Pooran Many of the guys above have contributed with the bat in games so far. On current form, where do Dhoni and DK stand? Which of the above WKs can they replace in their respective teams?

Mushiqur for all his antiques, is a brilliant batsman who often scores against top teams. He has done well against us and against many times and can just play as a batsman. I believe that is your question that can the wicket keeper just play as a bat?Mushfiqur is the answer. Latham is good too but with openers already there set in terms of Guptill-Munro, it will be hard for Latham to fit into the team just as pure batsman as opener. DeKock and Butler are best wicket keeper bats overall both can play as just pure bat in the line up.

ShoonyaSifar Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Worst keeper batsman so far. Guess it will continue to be like this DK obviously has been picked to keep Dhoni's place in 11 safe irrespective of his performance. Pant on the bench would have forced the TM to pick him. Suhaan 1
The Hound Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Despite his good batting performances so far, Mushfiqur single handedly cost BD the game against NZ with gloves.
zen Posted June 8, 2019 Author Posted June 8, 2019 Buttler followed up his quick 100 with a 64 of 44!
zen Posted June 14, 2019 Author Posted June 14, 2019 Carey vs Ind was a good batting performance by a WK as well

ShoonyaSifar Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Dhoni, Shehzad and Latham - three keepers yet to hit a 50. Shehzad is no longer playing, Latham will perhaps lose his spot to Bundell but Dhoni will play each and every match irrespective of his lack of runs. You would also never hear any commentator or TV expert point out Dhoni's pathetic record in ICC tournaments.

The knock of 34 vs SA was good as well but he wasn't able to finish the game. I will wait for few more matches before seeing how well he does. Will have to see how he does when top order fails to perform.
