NO MORE WORLD CUPS IN ENGLAND

How do you know this or you just lifted these lines from twitter  ? ( Not suggesting to.cover the whole ground )

covering the whole ground only works if rain stops which did not happen yesterday.  Rain kept pouring most of the day. Also, England do have high tech drainage systems installed in their stadiums.  Bangaluru Chinna also has same system now, also Eden gardens.

And why cant they just for big ICC events ?it wont cost them a fortune !

You cant control rain, there can be slight drizzle or torrential downpours ,you just have to be ready for the worse in such important tournaments

it will cost them millions in wages to employees and maintenance.  it is England, not India or Sri Lanka where labor is cheap.  listen to what KP was saying.

Not sure where I read it but read KP was stating ECB can't  afford  extra groundsman in England like BCCI is able to do so in India (Sounds rubbish imo)

it is not rubbish because labor is not cheap in England like India or SL.  Minimum wage is 10 pounds per hour and you will need more than 50 groundsman to bring such huge covers on the ground.  Calculate wages per person per ground 8-10 hours a day per day per year for every stadium.

Only if ECB had ensured the entire outfield was properly covered. Even yesterday, match was abandoned due to wet outfield and not due to persistent rain. How can the ICC not enforce WC host grounds to compulsorily have proper drainage and adequate covers? I remember in 2011 WC, they created so much drama about so many our grounds not being ready.

On top of that ICC says having reserve days would have meant deploying extra manpower! Imagine a global sports body such lame excuses. If Shashank Manohar has any shame left, he should resign rightway for such gross incompetence of his organisation. No one should be allowed to ruin cricket's global event.

There was rain most of the day yesterday except in the morning.  it was raining even when it was called off.

Rain did stop plenty of times yesterday.

Do you know ICC's tripled the budget for this WC vs the 2016 WT20 in India? Why do you think it was done? If ECB cannot spend a few extra millions to ensure ICC global tournament goes through without many issues, they better not host the WC.

ECB seems to have used this WC to get a lot of money for their smaller county grounds and help the local counties.

We must have been watching different feeds then. It did not rain since the morning in Nottingham. With a fully covered ground, toss would have been on time, match would have started on time (started drizzling at 10.20, stopped, the outfield was wet and the umpired kept waiting for conditions to improve) and we would have definitely got a curtailed game.

In any case, the moot point is a WC hosting ground not to have full covers is inexcusable. If it was a SC Stadium, ICC would have by now blacklisted it.

Forget all that...All English commentators would have been critical of Asian countries for not having proper ground facilities.

Yes.

YES.

Why? Why do you think that? Sure some miserable bastards love the rain but why would any cricket fan want and enjoy the one thing that can stop them playing or watching their favourite past time?

Kids/teens do volunteering for mega events like Olympics,CWG etc ,why cant they use the help of ground boys, ball boys especially the teens from the academy for the world event .I am not saying employ then permanently, just use their service for mega events like WC, I am pretty sure some kids would turn up

Complete and utter ****. What a strange and uninformed post. English are as desperate to see cricket as anyone else. More so in fact as we only get a short window every year to play it.

Also loads of younger English fans like me have more interest in the world cup this year
