Do you know ICC's tripled the budget for this WC vs the 2016 WT20 in India? Why do you think it was done? If ECB cannot spend a few extra millions to ensure ICC global tournament goes through without many issues, they better not host the WC. ECB seems to have used this WC to get a lot of money for their smaller county grounds and help the local counties. Link to comment

We must have been watching different feeds then. It did not rain since the morning in Nottingham. With a fully covered ground, toss would have been on time, match would have started on time (started drizzling at 10.20, stopped, the outfield was wet and the umpired kept waiting for conditions to improve) and we would have definitely got a curtailed game. In any case, the moot point is a WC hosting ground not to have full covers is inexcusable. If it was a SC Stadium, ICC would have by now blacklisted it. Link to comment

Kids/teens do volunteering for mega events like Olympics,CWG etc ,why cant they use the help of ground boys, ball boys especially the teens from the academy for the world event .I am not saying employ then permanently, just use their service for mega events like WC, I am pretty sure some kids would turn up Soorma_Bhopali 1 Link to comment
